Necri chuckled. "Okay jumpy, I'll go look for rabbits," he said as he allowed his scythe to drop out of from his sleeve again. After he examined the remainder of the tracks, he walked off in the direction of what he hoped was the rabbit warren, or at least somewhere with something edible-without even a nod in Greyhair's direction!
As he followed the tracks, he eventually found what he wanted to find-a wounded fox. He didn't really care how it was hurt, but he knew that it was soon to die. "I'll end your pain," he said as he slammed his scythe into the fox. After a brief shower of blood, he slung the body over his shoulder and began to walk back. Before he got too far though, he came by a small stream. He kneeled down and began to skin his kill.

Jimmy pulled the hood of his cloak up over his head and kept his head down as he watched Necri head off, until the black clad man walked into a particularly light spot at which point the strange youth in grey hissed and quickly turned his head away.
Aside from that, though he stayed in the shadows and just waited for him to return, though he did occasionally look to Rain to see what the Sirin might be up to.

Immediately after Necri had headed off, Rain began to scan the many branches above her. There seemed to be no sign of a nest from her position on the ground. She lowered her gaze to find a suitable tree to climb, which happened to be an easy task. A tree, only a couple meters away, stood with low, thick branches. She lithely scaled it until she was some distance from the ground.
She walked across branches. Rain's small frame caused little difference in the limb's position as she moved. She jumped lightly from one tree to another until she came across a small nest. She crouched down next to it and found nothing but small broken shells inside. She blinked at them while her mind was distracted by thought. It was probably rather stupid to be looking for bird's eggs this time of year, but she would try one more nest before she would give up.
Again, she began to search the trees for any sort of nest. She crouched and jumped from branch to branch many times, though each time she landed lightly on the other side. High up, she saw a small nest that seemed to be in good condition. She reached up to a branch above her and grabbed it, swinging about on it until she go a leg over. Once in a sitting position, she scooted over to the nest to find it held two medium sized eggs. Surprised by this fact, she grabbed both and slipped them into a small loop of fabric on her body and began the decent from the tree.
Once her feet hit the ground with a light thud, she was stuck with the idea on how to prepare them. Making a small fire seemed like a good place to start. She walked quickly and quietly back to 'Greyhair's' spot in the shadows. She came upon him after several minutes of walking. He seemed to be in a very bad mood, so she resisted questioning him. The sunlight reflecting off the snow was very bright. She squinted about for the small area where she slept, knowing it to be dry and full of good things to burn.
Though Rain knew little about facts and histories, she knew much about making something from nothing. She took her two small eggs out and laid them on the blanket she had slept in. She scooped up a good pile of leaves, and laid many dead sticks and twigs on top. With two of the thicker, she began to rub them together viscously. She continued this motion until her arms began to ache, and a small puff of smoke appeared. She rubbed them harder and even faster, until the smoke began to come more steadily. She took the twigs and laid them near the dry leaves, and blew on them softly. The embers caught and small flames shot up and soon devoured the stash of leaves. Rain quickly added more twigs and sticks, and ran and snapped more from a tree close by. With her fire started, all she had to do was keep it alive and wait for Necri.

"There, done!" Necri said as he threw out the guts of the beast and began to walk back to camp while whistling a tune. It was one that The Master had taught him and it always made him feel warm inside, even now that he knew what he had been tricked into, he still had fond memories of that time in his life.
"Hey everybody! Look what I found!" he said as he displayed the gutted carcass of their next meal, once it had been cooked up properly, it would be a decent feed, especially since Rain had gotten her hands on a couple of eggs. Necri quite enjoyed eggs-poached, fried, sunny side up-it made no difference to him, so long as there was enough to go around to everyone, he'd be happy enough.
"This'll be great once we cook it up," he said as he sat down proudly, like a cat that had just killed a bird or something. The winds began to die down and almost completely stop as he got closer to the small fire that Rain had prepared.

Jimmy moved over towards the fire as best as he could without leaving the darker shadows among the trees and kept his hood over his head so that it shaded his face. He was just about to cross a less shadowed spot when the clouds shifted and sunlight glared off the snow directly into his eyes. His hands came up to his face, though not quickly and his hissed loudly and staggered back tripping over a tree root in the process.
The grey clad youth was clearly at a disadvantage now that the sun was up. "d**n sunlight... ahh that hurts." He grumbled as he rolled around on the ground with his hands over his eyes.

Rain watched him stumble and raised an eyebrow worriedly. Scooping up the eggs, she took the blanket and stood. She walked the few steps closer and threw it over his head, though she knew that really wouldn't help his current pain. "Here, I'm going to grab your hand and lead you to the fire. Just lift your feet high when you walk, alright?"

When Necri noticed greyhair stumble backwards, he had to try very hard to suppress a chuckle. After all, how could someone so nimble fall back so easily? Of course, when their new friend mentioned sunlight, he remembered something that he had learned once before.
"You know, I think I have a spell that could help for a little while, but it's been so long since I used it that I don't quite remember what it does," he said. The spell he was referring to was shadow growth, but he couldn't remember if it made him bigger, or the shadows themselves, which could serve as a temporary veil for Jimmy while they travelled. However, it would be very risky for him to use it, since he didn't know the power required to use it...there might even be a sacrifice involved, which was something that Necri didn't even want to think about anymore.
"But we'll worry about that later. Now, get over here. These eggs won't eat themselves!" he said with a smile, to keep the others relatively happy.

Jimmy let Rain lead him over to the fire and sat down a little heavily keeping both his hood and the blanket over his head. He turned his head toward Necri and snorted gruffly. "Mos' folks stumble roun' at night. I stumble roun' durin the day. Bright light's kinda like bein hit in the face. There. Ya know me weakness. Happy!?" His voice was stern and he even snapped the last few words. "Go ahead an laugh whiskers... no better'n all them humans back where ah was born." Necri smiling or not the Grey clad youth sure didn't sound happy, though he did say that he might be a little grumpy. "Let's get a mirror an shine the light in Jimmy's face. Yea, real frickin funny..." He let his voice trail off at that point and was silent for a good long while.
Eventually he lifted the blanket a bit and peeked from under it, his eyes squinting and clearly red around the edges. "So. What's t' eat othern eggs?"

"Fox," Rain answered him, slightly distracted with searching for a flat stone. "Could you get more wood, Necri?" She asked, finding what she wanted. She wiped it off with her forearm before setting it near the fire, making sure that there were many hot embers underneath. She scooped a clean handful of snow and put it on the top and waited for it to melt. "I only stumble around at night when things curse me." She said mostly to herself, squinting at the snow. It started to pool slightly. "But it is good to be able to see like you do."
She shifted her position slightly, now sitting cross-legged next to the fire. The snow was now entirely melted, and it started to sizzle slightly about the edges. She took the eggs and looked at them carefully before she tapped one of them against the edge of the hot stone. A small crack appeared, the membrane being the only thing keeping the liquid contents inside. Using her small claws, she pried it open and let it all fall onto the stone. She proceeded to do the same with the other egg, and let them both slowly cook. "You'll have to get a drink from the stream if you're thirsty. I have nothing to carry water."

"Okay then," Necri said as he stood up to go and gather more firewood. He didn't know why Greyhair was in such a bad mood, but he figured that a warm fire would warm him up well...still, what he saw in the creatures that they faught, it reminded him of something...
When he was young, he never fit in. Not even before the incident involving those creatures, he was always considered strange. Even when kids tried to go and play with him, they were quickly pulled away by parents who refused to acknowlege his existance...and when humans were faced with something they were sure didn't exist...that look on their eyes-it was colder than the icy snow around him now.
After a long time gathering wood, Necri came back and placed the dry twigs and branches next to the fire. "I'm...sorry about what I said. If I remember right, I never really fitted in that well myself. This here was about my only friend," he said as he pulled a small wooden doll from inside his left sleeve. He didn't notice it, but there was a small switch or something on the back. Did it hold a secret? Maybe, maybe not...

Jimmy peered at the doll, eyes squinted, "Some kinda doll an yah kept it even now?" He asked then added. "Show me 'gain when it's dark ah only see shapes durin the day." His last comment suggesting that he couldn't see if there was a switch or not. "Ah'm sorreh too, fer snappin at yeh. Like ah said las' night ah get all... angry like durin the day 'less ahm someplace dark." Jimmy added after another pause then he sniffed. "Eggs smell like theys almos' done." [little side note... Jimmy's problem with sunlight is the classic problem you get with nightvision goggles when you look at something bright. He gets dazzled very easily and he doesn't have the option of taking them off. ]

She thanked Necri for the wood and began to place some of the new, dry sticks on top of her fire. Blowing on them gently, the timbers started to crack and flare up. She looked over at the eggs and squinted at them slightly. Rain poked at the top of the eggs gently with her claw, making them break open. Uncooked egg-whited oozed from the puncture. "No, I don't think so." She informed 'Greyhair', "Just a bit more."
She began to look about her for another flat stone. With one last glance at the cooking eggs, she stood up and started to move snow aside with her feet. She found several large rocks that would not work before stumbling across something that would work decently. She returned to her spot next to the fire and laid the rock on top of more hot embers.
By this time, the eggs had finished cooking. Carefully, she slid the stone away from the fire and nearer to the greyhaired youth. She didn't say anything else before going back and putting more snow on her new cooking surface. Her knowledge of cooking fox was similar to eggs: make sure it's thorough.

"Actually, I only found it when Rain freed me from captivity. Sounds strange that he would have kept it, but don't apologise for snapping. To be honest, I don't much care for all this sun either," Necri said as he moved a little closer to Greyhair. Not too close mind you, but close enough for Necri.
"Sure hope they'll be done soon, fighting those beasts last night worked up more of an apetite than I realised," he said as Rain poked one of the eggs. Even the thought of gobbling them down now crossed Necri's mind, but he knew that they were to share, not for just him.

Jimmy reached into his vest and pulled out some kind of eating utensil. It was like a cross between a fork and a spoon, made of metal and clearly unpolished. He used one edge to split the eggs into three portions then he gobbled down one and pushed the stone over to Necri. The remaining two portions being the larger ones, since they got the food it's only fair, right.
"Eh... I ate before it. This'd normally be dinner time for me." As if to punctuate this statement he yawned. "Captivity? Guess tha's why yeh look like yeh aint been out much an aren' too keen on sunlight."
[the eating utensil is a Spork.. but because sp oo n.. has P double O in the middle. Yeesh, what's the world comming too? Seriously!]

Rain looked up slightly from preparing the fox but didn't accept the egg. "There is a lot of fox meat, and I usually don't like eggs." She set a piece of meat on the hot stone and poked it about until it started to sizzle. She waited for the other two to finish off the egg so that she could cook two pieces of meat at the same time. She breathed in deeply, enjoying the smell of cooking meat.
"It doesn't sound very nice to me--not being able to move about in the daytime." She said, looking over at 'Greyhair'. She felt a bit of pity for him, but it wasn't much and didn't last for very long: being able to see that well in the dark was a great skill.
