Necri tossed his scythe towards the creature that he was chasing. Sure enough, it made a decent cut in his opponant. Necri smirked, only to find himself shocked as its body regenerated! "What do do now?" he asked himself as he rolled out of the way, in time to avoid being hit by this...void thing. Unfortunately, that was also when he saw Rain fall to the ground. It was almost like his whole world shattered in a moment.
"Rain!" he shouted as he quickly sent an attack at the one he was chasing and bolted towards her, dragging the scythe behind him. He whipped the chain around and brought it down on the creature, which seemed to just absorb the blow. He pulled the scythe back and thrust his hand out at the creature. Everything seemed to stop for a moment, until Necri realised that he hadn't done anything!
"Not a good day..." he said to himself as he picked up his scythe and went after the other dark being, which had now started coming after him again! As he charged in, that chill wind started to pick up again.

So now they knew the creatures regenerated and didn't seem inclined to talk especially seeing Rain stumble away and collapse.
"Ahm guessin," Greyhair drew both his swords as he stood from his crouch and sprang at the one that had his two axes in it, "they gotta be hit a little harder'n that." The one he'd thrown the axes at was just starting to pick it's self up when the grey blur that was Jimmy hit it hard three times. Two brutal slashes across it's chest and a third across it's back as the youth darted past the creature Rain had tried to interrogate. He barely even paused before leaping at the slightly dazed creature from behind with both his swords crossed. He hit right at it's neck line and made a double slashing movement almost like he was armed with a huge pair of shears. The double slice from both sides neatly severed the things head and just to be flashy the youth spun on one foot and kicked the head off into the trees somewhere.
Breathing a little heavily he paused to look toward Rain and Necri then crouched to retrieve his throwing axes. "Nuthin can regenerate it's head s'far as ah know." He pointed out helpfully.

After Greyhair had killed the creature, it was like a match had been lit. She opened her eyes and looked up, seeing Necri's face and the mysterious Grey haired youth moving behind him. Everything was a bit blurry at first, but it soon cleared. The numbness slipped off her arms and she could again feel her sword in her hand.
"Thanks," she said quietly, slowly trying to stand back up. "It must have cursed me... or something." She wobbled slightly once on her feet, but soon regained her balance. She swiped the air with her small weapon before looking at Jimmy and smiling awkwardly, "Maybe I'll just give it to you." After she had spoken, her head turned toward the regenerated black form, shiftily standing a distance away. "So you say headless forms can't regenerate?"

"That's all I need to know," Necri said as he thrust his hand out at the other form. In an instant, it had stopped in its tracks. Not as though it was in pain, but rather, that it was confused. Necri didn't know what spell he had used on it, but it was working.
"Now, we end this, pig!" Necri said as he shambled towards the creature, which was still disoriented from his initial attack. In one swift move, he wrapped the chain around its head, pulled back and watched as it fell off. With his task finished, Necri kicked the head away and began to rewrap the chain around his arm. After a few moments of silence, he turned to the others and smiled.
"Well, that was fun. What should we do now?" he asked as he sat back down in the snow. Using that much magic took a lot out of him and he needed to sit, no matter what they decided to do.

Jimmy shrugged a bit as he sheathed his swords and leant against a tree with his arms crossed. "Well, aint no real reason fer me ta hang around you two way I see it. So... unless yeh think yeh can convince me ta hang aroun, ahm gunna head off'n find some better pickins. Night's still young." That said he shoved off the tree and made to head off into the dark, though there was still time for Rain or Necri to jump in and say something if they wanted to.

Rain stepped forward a bit, then stopped. "Thank you for your help, really." She again smiled awkwardly, not wanting him to go but feeling they'd caused him enough trouble. At loss for words, she looked down are her clawed feet.

"Why go? If you stick around long enough, I'm sure I can find something edible in this place," Necri said as he shakily stood up again. He knew that this 'Greyhair' person probably had other places to be, but sharing a meal would be the least Necri could do to repay him for helping them out of that situation. He couldn't walk too far from the tree that he was holding onto right now, but he hoped that by reaching out, he could have some effect on Greyhair's plans.

Jimmy turned and walked back over to Rain and Necri. It might be noted he didn't extend his hand to accept handshakes or anything of the like, in fact he kept his arms folded and his hands tucked in his armpits. "Tell yeh wha. Yeh look like yeh coul do with a rest. Can't say I know jack an diddle abou what yeh c'n do an how but it looks ta smack yeh around a bit. I know this patch pretty good an ah figure as ah c'n see better'n yeh can," his tone isn't bragging just sharing what he believes. "How abo' ah keep watch while yeh have a rest an yeh can make me breakfast in the mornin."
He took a moment to look from Rain to Necri, perhaps trying to gage their feeling on his offer. "Ah'll warn yeh though... Ah get a mite testy if the sun gets in me eyes an ah usually sleep durin the day. Somewheres outa the sun iffin ah can find a place."

"That would be appreciated," Rain said thankfully, nodding slightly. She looked up at the dark sky, the stars blinking through the thick branches overhead. Now that the action at stopped, she started to notice how brisk the air was, and that a chill wind was blowing. Though the dense forest blocked the jest of it.
She turned before Necri could reply, and started to search for the blankets they had been resting in. It took some time, for they had been dusted with a light coat of snow. She picked them up and shook them out carefully before returning to the spot where Necri was resting. She handed him a blanket and hesitated with the other. "The trees should block a large part of the sun, but I will try not to bother you too much."
Deciding to keep the blanket, for 'Greyhair' seemed to have the appropriate protection from the cold, she looked about for a small while before finding a thick tree whose roots protruded from the ground in such a way that it made a very small shelter. She crawled into it and pulled the frayed blanket about her. The only thing she had to worry about for the night was what she would feed Jimmy.

"Agreed. I think I saw some rabbit tracks before we came to this clearing, so there might be foxes around, or something like that," Necri said as he leant back against the tree. The winds were picking up too much for him to try and get back to sleep, but he still at least closed his eyes and tried to shut out the winds, wherever they came from. He still wasn't sure about this newcomer, but he had a feeling that he was trustworthy after the display against the spectres.
As he 'slept,' Necri's mind began to consider things. Where had those things come from? Were they really just a random encounter, or something more sinister?

The Greyhaired youth crouched on top of a fallen log and pulled his cloak around himself to keep warm. He didn't stay completely still, though he didn't move around in a major way either apparently having a knack for keeping warm by moving only a little bit. Anyone close enough and actually looking at Jimmy would notice his eyes glowing slightly in the darkness, a trait often seen in the eyes of dogs and cats.
He maintained this watch position for about an hour or two then climbed down carefully, stretched his legs out and moved to another. He had no idea what was going on in Necri's mind but he kept an extra close eye on the 'spell cater' just to be sure strange things always happened around spell casters; or so he'd heard and this one was strange to begin with.

She slept little during the night, though kept rather warm in her small shelter. The wind blew through the small holes between the roots, creating a soft whispering sound that droned all others out. Her mind wandered over opinions of 'Greyhair', wondering what sort of person he truly was. The question that he was human strolled through her mind as well. For now, she agreed with the fact that he had much talent.
Her curiosity stumbled upon what the black creatures were. She could assume that Necri knew much about them, far more than she. Rain decided she would ask him about them later, for no ideas come to mind. The only thing Jimmy seemed to know about them was how they died.
A stronger gust of wind blew through, distracting her thoughts, ruffling her fur, and shifting her cover. She curled into an even tighter ball and tried to fall asleep.

Soon enough, Necri 'woke' from his sleep. As he looked around, he didn't see much change, except for the rabbit tracks being mostly blown away by the wind now. As he walked over to Rain, he softly poked her arm, to see if she would move. He didn't know that she would probably try and kill him after what had happened recently, but even if he did know, it was a risk that he was willing to take.

Eventually the sun began to rise. The light reached into the clearing first and when it did Jimmy the Grey-haired bandit moved into the trees and hunkered down in a shadowed spot that wasn't too far away from Rain and Necri who would both notice him squinting and blinking frequently especially when he looked toward the more brightly lit clearing.
"Well," he said when he noticed Necri was moving around, "didn't see any more o' them shadow things." Then he yawned slightly and mumbled something undecipherable.

Rain jerked, hit her head on the roots, and ripped her sword about in one far-from-smooth motion. Her eyes were wide open and her breathing was heavy. When her eyes finally adjusted and she saw that it was Necri, she lowered her sword and looked about. She blinked several times before her breathing started to slow. It seemed like she had just fallen asleep. She flung the blanket off of her and slipped out of the small cove.
She stood up slowly and stretched out her back, and then rubbed her head. After she had removed some of the kinks and sore spots from sleeping, she started to take in the area about her. She saw Jimmy crouched in the shade, looking rather irritable. She then looked at Necri. "How about you find that rabbit and I'll raid the trees. With all these birds there should be some eggs." She slouched her back and turned, lifting her head and looking up in the trees.
