When Whildfire returned to where Lucian had been standing when the two men went running off in a similar direction to the Feral boy, Eric. The 'archer' would have found the young noble standing still with his head tilted back and slightly to one side. As Wildfire came up to him and started talking, Lucian took a slight step closer to him and sniffed, then stepped away, slightly towards the direction Wildfire had come from and sniffed again. After the second sniff at the air the young Noble scrunched his face up a bit. "Sumdin zmelds bad over thad way." He said and pointed to where the building was supposedly located. Lucian then walked back closer to Wildfire. "I thing..." He turned and sniffed at the air again then he tugged at Wildfire's sleeve. "Widch way idz your boad?" To make what he was saying more clear he cupped his hands in a slight boat hull shape and made a rocking movement. "Iv idz dat way..." he pointed in a different direction to the grove. "Day Volangs mida found ed." [thought I'd try to type more like he sounds hope it works]

Eric looked between Scott and the retreating Wildfire. "Keep an eye on them," Eric said. "If anything happens, come get us." With that he pulled back towards the beach, not making a sound. Once at the beach he found Lucian trying to talk about a boat somewhere on the beach. "If those creatures bare us some malice," he said, thinking over the situation. "If they wish their prey to not escape, then they'd destroy any method of escape."

"Wait a minute-that boat was a rental!" Wildfire said as he dashed off. Sure, he was ignoring orders, but that wasn't anything new for him. However, as soon as he got to the boat, it was already crushed up. With a sudden burst of energy, he ran into the water and managed to pull out his cloak. It was completely soaked and nearly fell right off him, but it was still his and surprisingly, he looked a lot more powerful with it on.
"Now, where's my sword? Oh, right...left it behind as collateral...going to have to get myself a new one when I get back," he said to himself as he waded back to shore. He didn't know how those creatures could have destroyed it, since none of them looked that good at magic and he had anchored the boat a little way out, but those were questions better left for another time. He had his cape back and that was what mattered to him.

Scott was indeed watching the monsters, and not long after the others left, things began to get interesting. The Folang gathered around the archway and all peered up at it. The forest fell silent. The two biggest monsters wielded gigantic axes, and were far beyond human height themselves. They placed their axes aside and stood either side of the arch, facing one-another. There was another figure present, though this one was not much taller than a man and was mostly shrouded in a combination of peculiar darkness and elaborate long robes. His face was covered by a mask. This character stood beneath the arch, and as he turned and pointed out his fingers, there was a strange sound. A very low humming came seemingly from nowhere and it almost hurt Scott's ears. In the centre of the arch, something began to grow. The two giants rushed in and grabbed this thing, and as they pulled it back, it looked as though they were opening a hole in the air.
Scott, quite shocked, backed away and rushed back towards the beach.
"They're opening the sky!" he cried. "I mean, there is a hole, but the giants are opening it. Well, the masked one opened it, but the giants are helping, and the other things..." And the rest of it came out as ramblings. Clearly, he was very distressed by this event.

Lucian tilted his head and looked at Scott in a manner that would have made it clear to some, at least, that he thought the soldier had suddenly become bereft of his sanity.
"Obenin the sguy?" The youth shook his head then looked to Wildfire and then Eric. "Dyre too big for udz to fide." Lucian sat himself down on the ground somewhat unceremoniously. His clothes were ruined so what did it matter now if they got even more dirty. He then shrugged and sighed suggesting he had nothing then rested his elbows on his knees and his chin in his hands.

Eric looked over at Lucian. "We can always try. And you're going to help," the savage said angrily. "There's no weapon to give you."
He turned to Scott. "Opening the sky? Well let's go," he said and crept back through the brush to the altar. He made sure to move quietly, as always. He also tightened his grip on his spear.

Wildfire looked up and sighed. "I hate to break it to you all, but we're basically screwed. There's four of us against all that, I only have one arrow left! As much as I hate to admit it, even I don't know how...hell-o," he said as he noticed a small cache of crude weapons and arrows across on the other side of the encampment as he snuck closer. He wasn't as close as Lucian, but he was still close enough for his personal liking.
He motioned to Scott and Lucian to come closer. He pointed to the one guard that was near the cache. It could very well be a trap, but Wildfire indicated that it could very well be a risk worth taking. After all, his bow wasn't going to last this entire battle and getting new arrows was the whole reason he came here in the first place!

Scott pulled Wildfire's arm down. "Are you crazy?" he whispered hoarsely. "We can't fight them, but... we can stop them."
He looked up at the arch and then observed the walls. The wall they were hiding behind went to the side and then around the back of the alter, breaking a little here and there, but mostly covered by foliage and hidden in shadow. One could sneak behind this wall and reach the other side of the clearing undetected, or even climb along the top of the wall if one wanted to jump onto the top of the archway. However, as he moved around to see if one could walk behind the wall, it became clear that it was near impossible. The forest was very thick; branches and roots went this way and that, and the trees were tangled with vines. Glancing back to the weapons, he noticed a sparkle amongst the dull iron and steel.
"I know how we can reach the weapons. Someone small can crawl across the top of this wall, up in the canopy. If they're silent, they can reach those weapons..." He paused and looked at Eric, suggesting he was the best candidate. "There are silver arrows over there. If we can just get a few back over here, this guy can shoot the monsters opening the gate. Anything of The Enemy is weak against silver. It's our best chance right now."

Lucian poked his tongue out at Eric, but he carefully kept his attention on Scott and Wildfire. Looking from one to the other as they planned and discussed options then followed Scott's look towards Eric again, tilting his head slightly.
He could see that Eric was small, and he'd seen that the other boy was nimble. Maybe he was quiet as well, maybe he wasn't but Lucian had no way of knowing one or the other. He scratched his head a bit and frowned he was trying to think of something, probably but who could really tell.
He then crawled a little closer to the 'grove' to a point where he could see, he hoped, without being seen. Not quite moving like a natural hunter like Eric, it was more like a spoilt kid trying to sneak around a palace to spy on people. He watched a bit then crawled back to the others and when he got back he took up a stick and drew in the dirt. The drawing wasn't perfect but for a dirt sketch it was fairly clearly the robed creature. Lucian tapped his drawing a few times then acted out a using the stick as a wand like he was a mage or court wizard. "Thad one! Only one width magic."

Eric wordlessly moved closer to the wall and looked it over. He was looking for places to grip onto. Finally seeming to decide he turned around and handed his spear to Scott "I want it back," he hissed. "And don't move too much, you make enough noise to wake the trees."
With that he turned around and began climbing up a very rough section of the wall that seemed to be in the process of falling down. Apparently from the natural wear and tear of weathering. It was a difficult climb nonetheless, stone was much smoother than wood. This stone anyways. However his trained and nimble fingers found the right holds and he was soon pulling himself onto the top of the wall.
Eric remained on all fours as he moved around the wall, moving like a panther. However stone like this was unnatural to him. And it didn't take long for him to find a branch. At that he changed his tactic. He moved into the trees and across branches. He still kept the wall in sight and continued to move with unrivalled speed and stealth. But now with trees he was able to move faster and more gracefully.
Twice he screwed up. He misjudged a branch and jumped, only to nearly fall to his death. Both times he managed to just catch a branch and pull himself up. And he felt almost greatful when he saw the folang guarding the weapons on the ground. The only problem was pulling him away and into the forest where Eric could kill him without arousing the rest.
Looking around Eric smiled when he saw a loose branch. It was small too, so he could carry it to a good spot, and it was large enough to make a noise as it fell. He leapt over and carefully loosened the branch and pulled it from where it had rested. Looking around for a spot to throw it he saw the ritual seemed to be strengthening the portal.
Finally finding the right spot, a small bush of ferns. He positioned the branch like a spear and threw it. IT didn't exactly fly like a spear. It didn't have the balance. But that made it all the better. It crashed to the ground, making a racket as it did. It was enough to alert the folang guard, but not the rest of the camp. As Eric had hoped the creature went off to investigate. The young savage leapt through the trees and descended quickly and quietly behind the creature as it looked through the ferns. It had just found the branch when a rock came crashing down on its skull. It toppled to the ground, though Eric wasn't sure if he'd killed it. He bashed its skull a couple more times to be safe.
Then he turned and looked at the weapons it had been guarding. He'd never seen half of them before in his life. IT also was a bit of a mystery as to how he was going to get them all back.

Wildfire watched carefully as Eric ran and dodged through the trees. He wasn't a fan of his time in the knights, but his enhanced vision was definately decent compensation so that he could at least halfway keep his eyes following this kid. How Eric was going to distract the guard was beyond him though...until Wildfire heard a sickening crunch somewhere away. Well, that was the guard taken care of...
However, it seemed that Eric didn't know what he had to bring back-the shiniest of shiny arrows! He'd only need one, but the rest he could sell or something...or just use to do crazy things when he got home. He loved doing crazy things. He hoped that Eric would bring back the arrows first...but the extra weapons could be used for cash, so they'd be welcome too.

Scott could tell Eric didn't know which weapons to bring back, as the boy was scrambling through the items and the silver arrows were right there -- in a quiver, sticking out of the top.
"He doesn't know what silver is?" Scott asked to nobody in particular. "I should've guessed... We need something that looks like silver so he knows what we mean."
He inspected his own sword. It was a little dull and could hardly be considered silver with its rough finish and worn look. He took a quick look at what Wildfire and Lucian had on them. Lo and behold! Lucian was bearing a silver anklet. Scott reached over and unclipped it, hoping Lucian would understand, and he waited for Eric to look in their direction. When Eric did, Scott held up the anklet slightly, moving it around so it caught the light and glistened, but without throwing light anywhere so nobody else would be alerted. He hoped Eric could put two and two together and get the silver arrows -- recognisable by their glistening silver heads.

Lucian did jump slightly when Scott reached for his ankle and gave the man an odd look for a moment but then he seemed to realise what Scott was up to and allowed the anklet to be removed.
The anklet looked quite fancy, and well crafted so it was possible it was a gift from someone. Lucian kept his eyes on the anklet most of the time, though he did glance toward Eric as well to see if the message registered.

Eric frowned. Why were they flashing a light in his face? Or reflecting it. Maybe they were trying to tell him something. He looked back down at the weapons crate. He couldn't stay here much longer or the creatures would be bound to see him. In the corner of his mind he remembered the archer talking about needing arrows. Maybe they meant the silver ones. They were the only arrows there.
He grabbed the quiver and slung it over his shoulder. He stood to leave, but stopped as he saw a dagger with strange markings in it. He snatched it too and squezed it into the quiver. With that done he began his trek back. This time he was weighted down a little, but still managed to make the jumps from tree to tree. Aside from a few near falls, he managed to make the jumps. Most of them. He was back on the wall and starting to climb down when he missed his footing and handhold and plummeted straight into the ground. He landed on his front and immediatly felt a searing pain in his arm. He knew better than to cry out, but he did make a sound somewhere between a groan and a yell.

Wildfire rushed over as quietly as he could and helped Eric back up. He hadn't needed to sneak around like this for quite some time and he realised he was getting a little rusty...
"Excellent work. You'd make a top notch treasure hunter," he whispered as he dashed off to his previous location with a grin on his face and an arrow in his hand. It seemed to shine an unusual way, even for a silver arrow. Still, a shot was a shot and anything that kept the world from being destroyed was a good thing, right?
With those thoughts running through his head, he nocked an arrow in his bow and for the first time in his life...he prayed. He prayed for stability, for clarity of mind and most importantly, that his bloody bow would survive! He was the best, he knew that...suddenly, he found himself firing the arrow, as though his mind had been somewhere else as his body took the shot!
As expected, a silvery white trail sped through the camp, which was too fast for most of the residents to notice, let alone react to! That was a good thing, since the arrow landed right in its target's right shoulder, which left a gaping hole where once there hadn't been one.
With a wail, the caster fell to its side in pain. Wildfire smirked as it began barking orders to the other creatures that seemed to be under its guidance in some form. Soon enough, most of them ran off in random directions into the forest, but a few stayed behind to argue amongst each other. Luckily, the four went unnoticed.
Above the chaos, the sky hole started to pulse and fluctuate in a strange and somewhat creepy manner. The process was slow, but the four unlikely adventurers were somewhat distracted by the fact that chaos was starting to ensue in the camp.
Despite all this, Wildfire was confused. He remembered hearing stories about these...Folang somewhere before now, but where? Furthermore, why was he only remembering now?
