((Just a tip: don't forget the past tense...))
Wildfire sighed. "Just another day in paradise," he said to himself as he sprinted over to the critter and pushed him off the noble kid. Even though he didn't much care for nobility, he knew that being killed by one of those...things was not the way for anyone to go. He gave a wry grin at the kid before he went to the Critter. He didn't have much in the way of tying it up, but he did manage to throw the beastie back to Eric.
"Hey kid, heads up!" he called out as whatever it was sailed through the air like a lame bird back towards Eric...whatever these things were, they weren't giving up without a fight...

Eric had changed his position to in front of a rock. When the creature came sailing back he bolted aside and it slammed right into the boulder. He wondered if the crunching sound he heard was skull, teeth or claws. He grabbed his spear and drove it through the creature, just to finish the job.

"Nice job. Sure hope these things don't get stronger when you kill them," Wildfire said as he went off in the direction that he saw the guardsman go off in. He didn't feel all that good about leaving those kids alone, but if he didn't do something to help Scott, he'd probably end up feeling guilty if he was killed...well, guilty enough to bury the guy properly, at least.

Scott quickly found himself somewhere overgrown with trees and bushes, and the sun shot down between the branches and scorched his skin. The Folang ahead of him was keeping up a steady sprint through the undergrowth and Scott struggled to keep up. It was agile and small and obviously knew the place better than he did. Then, it tripped and rolled into a tree. Scott poised himself for the final blow but an arrow was suddenly in the creature's head. It flopped to the side and stopped moving.
Scott froze on the spot. Nobody was in his immediate sight and there was no disturbance around him. He slowly turned his head to check and see if any of the others were following him. He assumed they would if they wanted to survive.
After a couple of minutes, he was convinced there was nobody there anymore. He turned and headed back the way he came, soon bumping into Wildfire, who had apparently come to look for him.
"Hey! Did you shoot that Folang I was chasing?" he asked, still a little shaky. He remembered that Wildfire had a bow.

Wildfire soon found his way to Scott, who seemed to think that he had shot at that...Folang as he called it. He simply shrugged his shoulders.
"No, but it is wierd that it would've been shot. By the looks of it, neither of the two of our companions have the skill to use a bow to kill a...what did you call it? Folang?" he asked as he brushed himself off and examined Scott. Luckily, neither of them seemed to be too injured.
"Still, there was some strange talk going on about this island back in central...that there was some curse or something like that. Sure hope this whole island isn't alive or something," Wildfire said as they went back to the others. Wildfire gripped his bow a little tighter now. After all, if there was someone-or something else on the island, he wasn't going to get caught with his pants down!

"They're called Folangs, yes," Scott said as they headed back to the beach, though he did so very cautiously. "It's just so strange..."
Suddenly he stopped and looked to his right, towards the large bushes there. He frowned and held Wildfire's arm to stop him walking. Then he sighed.
"I thought I saw something. It must've been nothing."
They finally reached the beach where Lucian and Eric were. Then he realised what he had seen.
"I saw a building," he said aloud. "There's a building in the forest... Why...?"

At that Eric frowned and rushed off into the forest. Slowly he crept through the bushes and trees, making sure to not make a sound. He was good at this. He clutched his spear tightly and continued down the path he'd seen Scott come from.

"A building? I heard this place was uninhabited...great, that means I'll have to check every tree in case it's sacred...also, let go of me," Wildfire said as he looked up at the trees. It was easy for him to note if a tree had certain qualities that would make it 'sacred' to certain tribes, but he just wanted to get some more arrow materials, not examine plants!
"Hey, what's up with him?" Wildfire asked as he noticed Eric dash off in the corner of his eye. Whatever made him do that must have been important, but whatever it was, he doubted that it was really any of his concern.

Lucian picked himself up from then sand looked down at his now ruined clothes, blushed bright red and covered himself as best he could. The Noble then moved to hide behind Wildfire or Scott. There were a few scratches where the Folang had torn through the boy's clothes but he appeared to be trying to ignore it.
"A building?" He asked in that same strange, nasal tone tone that might suggest he isn't aware how his voice sounds.

Scott threw a glance at Lucian to make sure he was okay and then Wildfire caught his attention again. He managed to catch a blur of Eric trotting off into the forest again.
"Yes," he finally said. "A building. Perhaps Eric is going to find it? Or... Can you hear that sound again?"
And he started off as quickly as Eric did, though heading in a slightly different direction. Sword in hand, he pushed on, not waiting for the other two, though it wasn't exactly hard to miss him. He wasn't nimble and stealthy like Eric was. In time, he came across a sight that almost made him cry out.
From behind a small strange cobblestone wall, he spied the ruins of what could be best described as some sort of grand ceremonial altar in a clearing. Tall trees reached overhead, shadowing the grove, and higher walls rose around the central arch that led nowhere. On top of this, Folang littered the area, and some were adult Folang -- the kinds with spiked collars and chains and dangerous weapons, easily as high as a man. There were also a few larger creatures by the arch that Scott didn't recognise. They all seemed to be standing around in an orderly fashion, perhaps waiting for someone or something.
Scott muttered unmentionables under his breath and violent chills ran through him. If they found out he was right there at the edge of the clearing, behind that small wall, they would surely tear him limb from limb with little effort. He looked over his shoulder in case one of the others was following him. If they were, he would have to quickly hush them. This was certainly no laughing matter.

[The biggest creatures in the clearing are far beyond anyone in this thread. Directly attacking them is strongly advised against, and attacking any discretely is discouraged.]

Wildfire sighed. He didn't know why he was going after complete strangers, but he had a feeling that he'd better keep an eye on them. "Keep yourself hidden," Wildfire said as he ran after the other two. He drew the final arrow from his quiver and knocked it into his bow, in case he ran into something nasty...
"Holy sh-" Wildfire muttered as he managed to stop himself just before he burst into the clearing. He was curious at first, given that he often explored ruins for money and treasure (that he would then exchange for money) but at the same time, he was concerned. He knew he was the best, but one arrow against all these...things? Even he knew that was impossible!
He started to back away. Maybe if the creatures didn't know they were there, they would be ignored entirely...he hoped.

Eric perched in one of the tall trees, looking down at the altar and the strange creatures. There's too many. A single animal has no hope against a small group. And a small group has no hope against a larger group, he thought as he watched the Folang do weird things. "Why do they do these strange steps?" he asked himself in a whisper.
He watched for a few moments longer, then shimmied back the branch. With the nimbleness of a cat he leapt through the branches and down to the ground. He dropped quietly into the bush and heard the loud noise of something, or things, moving through the forest. He looked around and saw the two adults. Quickly he made his way, silently, over there. "Can you be any louder?" he hissed to them. "BAck away, there's nothing we can do about those creatures. Besides, those ones haven't done us any harm."

When Eric appeared, even Wildfire was a little surprised. How the heck did he get so close without him noticing? Still, he did have the best plan-a tactical retreat. With a simple nod of his head, Wildfire quickly snuck back to where they had been before, careful not to break any dry twigs, or wet ones, for that matter!
He eventually made it back to where Lucian was before. "Looks like I'm not going to get myself a nice relaxing holiday on a deserted island now," he said to himself as he leant against a tree. He didn't take into account the fact that those...whatever they were were still listening in on them, but then again, they were pretty far from their enemies camp now...

Scott turned to Eric and cursed himself. "d**n, I thought I was being quiet!" He shuffled a little further back, just enough so he could still spy a portion of the clearing. "These things always mean harm. It's their purpose for existing. They're planning something and it's bad -- they have to be. Perhaps they have something to do with me getting to this island..."
Back at the beach, two large Folang and numerous smaller ones were inspecting this small wooden boat they'd found by the shore. They seemed inclined on arguing about who owned it, and once they came to the conclusion that none of them did, one of the big ones swiftly struck its base with an axe. The wood gave and the boat was considered useless.
