Arrinor just stared at the ceiling. "I...I don't like magic. It sort of scares me. A lot. I know it isn't really you'r fault, but..." Arrinor trailed off, looking slightly depressed.

Roan sighed. "I...I'm sorry. I'm not good at fighting without my staff...so I guess I kinda rely on magic too much. I'll try and not use it," he said as the door opened and in came Tony with a few slices of meat placed between bread rolls. It wasn't the most well-presented meal in the world, but Roan gladly took his portion.
"Come over here and have somethin' to eat. My wife'd say you're nothing but skin and bones!" Tony said as he chuckled heartily while chewing contentedly on his own share of the meat-and-bread combo. There'd be time for questions later. For now, there was getting these boys fed to worry about.

Arrinor wasn't that hungry, but he took down his lower bandana and began to eat.

Tony watched as the boys ate their fill. "So, what're you boys goin' down to Entaro for?" he asked. It wasn't uncommon to see travellers go by his farm, but these two were clearly different from the usual traffic.
"Well I uh...I'm going back home after a long trip, but I got lost. Arrinor's helping me back home, but all we've got to work with is this map..."
Tony looked at the map. "Well that won't do at all! Wait here, I'll get you a better one," he said as he walked into a different room. Roan kept eating until he noticed that Arrinor was visibly uncomfortable.
"What's wrong?" he asked.

Arrinor finished his bread before looking up at Roan. "Nothing, why?"

Roan shrugged. "No reason," he said as he downed the last of his share of the food. Roan was sure that Arrinor was hiding something, but if he didn't want to talk about it, then there'd probably be a good reason for it, so the two just sat in silence until Tony got back with a larger map. It was old and worn around the edges, but it was larger and far more detailed than the scrappy little thing that they had used so far.
"Thankyou sir," Roan said as he looked over the map. There was a clear path indicated that avoided the main roads, which Tony must have travelled in the past. Tony smiled and sat back in his chair.
"Think nothing of it. My darlin' made maps all the time when she was younger, so I've got plenty of 'em. Feel free to stay as long as y'need," he said as he leant back in his chair and half-drifted off to sleep as Roan continued looking at the map while sitting next to Arrinor.

Arrinor crossed his arms, brooding about current events. Finally, he just seemed to fall asleep. It was anyones guess to when he had last slept.

Roan kept looking at the map, tracing his fingers along the many paths. Soon enough, he too fell asleep in a corner. To the outsider, Roan's method of sleep would seem very unusual. Every so often, he would twitch and turn around, but that was all normal for him.
In his dream however, Roan found himself in a dark place, stumbling around. He tripped over many times and found himself unable to block out the laughter of what he assumed to be people. "S...shut up!" he said as he fell to his knees with his hands over his ears. If Tony or Arrinor would happen to wake up right now, the combination of Roan's twitching and him holding his hands over his ears would surely be enough to set off a few proverbial warning bells!

Arrinor dreamt, as always, that he was in battle. And, as always, he was frightened. He held a sword but it was shaking. His advesary's face was not full of malice or triumph. Rather, it conveyed one simple message.
You have failed.
Arrinor's sword continued to shake. He gripped it both hands but it continued to jerk. The antagonist smiled, a smile that was not full of mirth so much as disdain. He just stood there, sword in sheath, staring at him.
Arrinor sank to his knees.
"Enough..." He muttered. The figure raised an eyebrow and crouched down, better to see Arrinor's face.
"What?"
"I said-" And in a flash, Arrinor awoke. The first thing he saw was the old man. His hand looked for a weapon, but then he was aware of the boy sitting next to him. He calmed once he was able to put names to these people. His friend was obviously having a nightmare.
"-Enough." Arrinor muttered. He paused, remembering Roan's discomfort at being touched. He shook it off, the boy would forgive him eventually.
"Roan..." He said loudly, shaking him gently.

Roan snapped awake. "Huh? What? Oh...it was only a dream," he said as he slowed his breathing down and came to the realisation that nothing had really happened. Even though it was only a dream, he was still visibly shaken from the experience.
Tony was still asleep, for now, which gave Roan an idea. "We should leave. Y'know, to get home faster," he said. In all honesty, he felt like they had overstayed their welcome, not to mention the fact that Arrinor himself seemed to have been troubled in some way.

Arrinor rubbed his eyes uncertainly. "Alright then." He got up and stretched. Then, inclining his head slightly at the sleeping man, he walked outside. It seemed he'd forgotten about all the gear.

Roan gathered up the map and other stuff that Arrinor had seemingly forgotten and after writing a quick note of thanks to Tony, he ran out to catch up with his friend. Roan wanted to stay, but he also knew that getting home was also very important.
"Well, uh...let's go then," he said as he stretched out his aching body and prepared for what would surely be a long trip.

Arrinor sighed, and cracked his neck. "After you, then."

Roan was nervous about leading the way, but he still set out and did his best to look confident. He didn't like how quiet it was at the moment, so he did his best to strike up a conversation with Arrinor.
"So...uh...what're y'gonna do? When we get to Entaro, I mean," he asked as they passed a pair of birds that were flying alongside one another, much like how the two of them were.

Arrinor took his time answering, since it was a matter he hadn't really thought about until now. He was shocked to realise that he didn't really care.
"I dunno, nothing probably. I have nothing to go to. Perhaps I'll just keep goin' until something kills me." He finished, actually stopping in his tracks and gazing at the floor, as if trapped by the morbid inevitability of his statement.
