Wildfire's ears pricked up when he heard the name Lucas Scott. He quickly appeared next to Eric and took over the conversation with a wry smile.
"Yeah, we've seen him, but it's going to cost you if you want anything else out of us," he said as he pushed his hood down, to reveal his face and that he was certainly not lying. He motioned to Eric that he would take it from here, but if the wild kid would take his hint was another matter altogether. Still, no matter what Eric did, Wildfire had a feeling that he could handle the possible backlash.
As he looked the two guards over, he couldn't help but feel slightly uncomfortable. They might know who he was! Granted, it was a one in a trillion chance that anyone would have heard of him this far from home, but it still made him panic a tiny bit. He managed to quickly compose himself again, hoping that nobody had noticed.

Eric missed the gesture entirely. And of course the term 'it's going to cost you' meant nothing to him. "We were on this little island with him," he explained. "There were these furry things, forlags, and they were making this kind of hole in the sky." He started explaining the previous adventure, without any regard for where they were, how loud he spoke, though that wasn't too loud, or how public. Indeed he explained every detail, including Lucian and the portal that brought the noble home, and then the boat, though he luckily remembered to not talk about the village, and described everything up to the current moment.

The two soldiers shared an expression of astonishment. Then it quickly turned into laughter. They both began to laugh quite uncontrollably, and the ones sitting nearby who had overheard could not help but chuckle to themselves. Cole was staring out of the window at the clouds passing by.
"Oh, that's the funniest story I've heard in a long time!" said the soldier once he regained himself. "I'm going to tell that one to my niece! She'll think it's great!" And they both left the tavern on a high.
Cole watched them both leave and after looking at Wildfire, Eric, and Daveth once more in turn he headed to the counter, took the keys from Lurah and then entered a doorway and disappeared. He unlocked 2C and 2D and went straight to the closet of 2D. He pulled out a simple shirt and a pair of pants and threw them on the bed.

Daveth shook his head a little at the story as well. It sounded a little strange, even to him. In his head he admitted to himself that he didn't really know a lot about magic so a 'hole in the sky' could be possible but he didn't understand how.
After another few quiet moments of thought he collected his pack from under the table and headed through the door Cole had gone through. He found his room and stepped inside placing his pack carefully on the floor then reaching in to remove the ferret. He placed the animal inside his hood and looped the leash around one wrist then removed his belt of pouches and set about scrubbing his hands using the bowl and pitcher of water he found in the room along with some soap from his pack.

Wildfire sighed. It was about all he could do as the guards left. "There's the problem with saving the world. Nobody believes you when you do it," Wildfire said as he shot a glare in the direction of the guards, who were now well outside of the inn. Wildfire had plenty of proof for those stuck up bastards, but pulling out proof that The Enemy was on the move amongst that many people would not be the best idea...
"C'mon Eric, let's go see the room that Cole got for us," he said as he gave the boy a light nudge to keep him from starting any other fights. Today hadn't exactly gone the way he'd planned and having to pry Eric away from another fight was something he wanted to avoid...

Eric shrugged. "Sure," he said, following Cole more than Wildfire. He followed Cole into the room and saw him throw the shirts and pants onto the bed. Eric assumed they were for him and immediatly changed into them, of course not having any stigma towards nudity. But once he had them on he wasn't sure he liked them. They were kind of confining. "I suppose I'll get used to them," he mumbled.

Cole nodded. "You will. It's more of a deterrent to those idiots looking for the slightest reason to pick on you than anything."
He watched Daveth go to watch his hands and then his attention was stolen by something outside. He stared at the window for a good couple of minutes, his face very calm, yet concentrating. The slight jerky movement of his eyes indicated serious internal dialogue, but he didn't open his mouth to speak at all.
After another moment he said, "I'm going to go unless you need me for something else."

Daveth got done washing his hands in short order and looked into the other room on his way back to the common room for something to eat.
"I'm fine thanks," he said to Cole then continued on his way bac to the common room.
Should the others go looking he could be found at a table with a mug of ale and a large serve of pie and vegetables in front of him, food he would seem to be greatly enjoying the flavours of judging by the fact he doesn't rush it down.
[Feel free to skip me if it's appropriate. I can't see that I have much to add at this point and Daveth would likely be going his own way to sell potions once he's eaten]

"You'll get used to it, or I could give a shot at making it more comfortable," Wildfire said in Eric's general direction as he took off his cloak and armour. He seemed a lot more relaxed now, as though he was a different person. He pulled a needle and thread out from inside his left boot (most likely another hidden pocket of his construction) and placed them on a small table. The needle was a little rusty, but otherwise okay. As Cole left, Wildfire looked over at him.
"See you around then Cole," Wildfire said as he gave a nonchalant wave to the boy while flopping down on the bed. He couldn't help but see a little bit of himself in Cole when he was that age-small, uninterested in others, not many friends his own age, if any...bah, whatever. He was just a small-town kid who did his job. Odds were that they wouldn't cross paths again, if Wildfire knew his luck...
Fortunately, he did.

Eric dashed out of the room after Cole. "Wait," he said to him. Cole hadn't really travelled too far, so Eric caught him up. "I don't know much about numbers or ages, but I think you're roughly around my age Cole. Someone my age is better company than that Wildfire."

Cole regarded Eric with a moment of thought. The other two dismissed him as quickly as any of the town's people would have, yet this odd youth wanted to be with him. Having never been offered this before in his life, he wasn't sure how to accept.
"Sure," he eventually said. With that, he left the tavern, passing Daveth with his meal and giving him a simple goodbye glance. Once outside, he stretched for a moment and closed his eyes.

Wildfire noticed Eric run out of the room. He was tempted to follow, but he remembered that Eric prefered to be alone. Still, he kept an ear out for any trouble as he walked over to a window and looked out.
Of all the places to land near, this would have to be his personal favourite. Wildfire loved the smell of the salt air as it wafted around his head. It reminded him of a better time, a more simple time-a time when he wasn't stupid enough to let his mind wander off like that! Still, the town had a quaint charm about it that he found hard to find. If he could find work here, he might even stay a little while. If he couldn't, well, he would just have to return when he could.
Still, that peaceful moment didn't last. When Wildfire heard a pair of feet clomping up behind him, he thought it was Daveth. "View's pretty nice here. I can see why you came here to-" suddenly, he found himself pulled to the ground!
"Dude! What the he-wait, don't I know you?" he asked as he looked up at his assailant-a tall, slightly flabby and clearly drunk man who was several years his senior. As Wildfire pulled himself into a crouching position, the man attempted to speak.
"Don't recognish me? I'm inshulted! Eshpeshially after ya ruined ma lifesh!"
"Oh, Torak the con artist! Gone from town treasurer to villiage idiot in how long has it been? Eight months? Your mother must be proud," Wildfire said as he stood up and readied for either an insult fight, or a fist fight. Either way, he was planning to have a bit of fun with this guy.
"Pfft, you're one to talk, failure boy." was all Torak said in reply.
"What did you call me?" Wildfire asked. There were two things he hated being called and one of them was a failure. Granted, he wasn't the most successful Magni to date, but he certainly was no failure!
"Yoush heard me, failure!" Torak soon found a fist slamming right into his nose!
"Nobody calls me a failure, especially a pathetic drunk who couldn't even keep his plans secret from a teenager," Wildfire replied as he watched the man reel out of the room. The fight was far from over, but he knew that it would be bad on his account to go for him now, when there could be witnesses. Even though he was ticked beyond belief at the guy, he knew to keep a cool head in a fight, especially when there were others around.

Eric was halfway up the stairs when he heard the sound of fighting. Alarmed he dashed up the stairs, his mind already shifting him into his fighting mode. Already methods of approaching the fight were running through his head. Then he saw a man reel and stumble out of a room. But not just any room, the room Wildfire and he were in.
Eric's spear was with him. It never left. Though he found carrying it all the time to be tiresome. Maybe I can find a belt to go over my shoulder. I could hold it on my back he thought. He quickly stopped running and though he moved quickly, he also moved quietly. Like a cat creeping up for the pounce. The man and Wildfire had engaged in verbal assault, and then man was both too distracted and too drunk to pay attention to his surroundings. That was until Eric broght the but of the spear down on his head, followed by a kick straight to the back.

"Leave him to me," Wildfire said as he picked Torak up by the scruff of his neck. As he looked up at the youth, he smirked.
"Need kids to fight your battles now? You're one pathe-" again, Torak found himself slammed against the wall of the inn. The noise caused a commotion, but obviously not enough for anyone nearby to notice (aside from Eric) Now, Wildfire had Torak's attention.
"Now you listen and listen good you worm. I'm enjoying myself here and if I keep doing so, you get to keep your limbs intact. Know how I can keep enjoying myself?" Torak, who was now showing his true colours began to tremble and shake his head. He looked up at Wildfire in hopes of mercy, but found none.
"Make sure I don't see your face. Ever." With that, Wildfire tossed Torak to the ground. He was out of there faster than an arrow! He barely even noticed Cole as he ran by in terror. As soon as it was safe, Wildfire sat down in the room again.
"Jerk," he muttered as he began to examine each of the arrows that he had managed to salvage from the island. With any luck, he might be able to part with a few for some much needed coin.
