[Moved from A Calm Night]
Geral was crouching on a rock in a lake beneath pine trees standing high and strong all around. A haze with an earthy fragrance drifted all about him, bringing visibility down significantly, and rays of the distant sun shot through the canopy, penetrating the water at certain parts, which sparkled in return.
Geral plunged his hand into the water and yanked it out with a small fish in his grasp. He looked over his shoulder to check on the sleeping Kori tied to a pine stump before going to eat his meal.

Kori dreamt of many places, vivid and unknown areas deep within the jungles, while he had no knowing of his predicament. He was tied tightly to the stump with finely woven rope.
For a moment, a small ached groan escaped his lips, but he remained in his dreamy sleepy state, unknowing that he was far from home.

Geral went to Kori after eating and sat half a fish beside the boy. He crouched and then briskly slapped the kid's face.
"Wake up. You hungry?" He held the fish up to Kori's face. "You have to eat if you want to make it into the mountains."

Kori's eyes flew open and he looked all around for a moment. Once his eyes fell on Geral and the half-eaten fish, he realized what situation he was in. He looked down to see himself bound in ropes.
"Where am I? Yes, I'm hungry, but I'd rather catch my own fish. You probably poisoned that one," Kori snarled stubbornly. His trust was absolute zero. He knew Geral was taking Kori to his people and that he needed to be alive in order to do so.

Geral made an odd expression of disgust. "Pugh. Find. Be a child." He ate it before his eyes and once he had finished he glanced up at the canopy above, speaking slowly now, "That was real stupid of you to tackle me. I mean, sure, you're fit, but you don't know how to fight. If you're gonna jump on someone like that, get their arms behind their back and sit on their legs."
He walked back to the water's edge and crouched, running his finger along the water's surface, seeming somewhat amused -- like a kitten with a ball of string. It was as though there was another fish just there under the water but he'd rather poke it than catch it. He then looked over his shoulder at Kori and glared for a moment. With a sigh he went and united the rope binding Kori to the tree, but left the one tying his wrists together.
"Did you want to catch your own fish, then? You are hungry. I know you are."

Kori thought deeply about the question. "I don't attack physically, no. What's the catch anyway?" He stared at Geral and his fascination with the water's surface. His stomach growled from the thought of a nice tender fish.
"No need to untie me, anyway." Kori concentrated on where Geral was staring, sure he was eyeing a fish, and the water splashed, wind picking up, and a fish flew out and skidded across the grassy shoreline to where the fish flopped at his feet. A smirk wiped across his face.

Geral looked at the water and then down at the fish. "You gonna eat that off the ground, then?" he asked with an equally wide grin. "Seeing as you can do that, just catch the fish you want."
He waded back out into the water, looking for more fish before Kori got them. He stepped very slowly, avoiding rocks and other things, staying near the shallows. Suddenly, he cried out some blasphemy unknown to Kori and fell backwards in the water, clutching his bare foot.
"Argh! Wha- what the...?" He winced and crawled backwards towards the shore. "A stonefish..." he muttered, looking at his foot. There were three long spines stuck into the flesh below his big toe. "Just my luck..."

A smirk wiped across Kori's face and then he stared down at his fish. "I can't really eat it since I'm tied, now, can I?" He shifted his body slightly. The ropes weren't too tight, so he squeezed a bit more and shrugged his shoulders, the ropes slowly sliding off his body, but leaving deep red marks.
Finally, he managed to slip out and he knelt next to his fish. He knew he couldn't escape Geral, so he wouldn't run. Besides, a free meal was a free meal. He eyed a sharp stone that lie a little ways from his and he concentrated hard on it, wind came in and stirred it up and it dropped at his feet. He began to carve the fish with skill. He had done it many times before.
He stared back up at Geral, who hobbled with the three spines in his big toe. "Come here," Kori told him. He had had experience with stonefish before, especially with some of the young Keid that didn't know any better. He had pulled out many spines of a stonefish. "I've had some experience, I can pull that out for you."

Geral shook his head while clenching his teeth. He forced himself to stand and began to limp very painfully southward, but it wasn't long at all before he stumbled. With a snarl, he stood and clutched a tree branch. But with each step he took, he moaned in pain and fell down again. He was almost crying tears of frustration as he lay on the forest floor, sprawled out flat and tossing pine needles around him.
"Well, you may as well go home now..." he mumbled, sounding extremely disappointed.

Kori rolled his eyes at how immature he believed Geral was asking, but he remembered how much the quills hurt because he had had so many stuck in his own feet. He lifted himself from his spot on the stump and stood behind his enemy, who was lieing on the ground muttering angrily.
He pinned Geral to the ground and grabbed his foot firmly in his hand, eyeing the three quills that stuck out of his toe so finely. He squeezed his fingers on one of the quills and slowly pulled it out as to not shock the near-to-crying enemy. He pulled out the other two and then stood, holding them up. "These are pretty sharp and long. You're lucky I know what I'm doing." With that, he sat back down and fed on his fish, not taking Geral's advise to leave.

"You're stupid," Gera muttered, turning around and holding his foot. "Stonefish here aren't like the ones you have in the jungle streams."
He looked up at Kori, his eyes already bloodshot and his hands trembling.
"Stonefish around here are... are... poisonous... There is no known remedy..."

Kori cocked an eyebrow. "Poisonous? And is that how you treat people who try to help you?" He stood up, thorwing the remains of the fish to the ground. "Stonefish poison isn't common, but usually there is a cure somewhere in this forest. Do you know what it is?"
Kori suddenly paused. He knew from the start he could escape, but Kori was still unknowing of what powers Geral may have possessed. "If it's an average poison than it will dull you from the feet up."

"You're not listening to me," Geral said. "They... are... d-deeeeeadly! I... I could die within hours... I already can't feel my foot."
He growled again and sat up, staring at his foot. "I should just cut it off. That'd stop the poison all right." He was half-joking but also somewhat serious. He looked up at Kori with a fierce glare. "I threw your knives away. Hmm. Maybe another Fanoran will find me here. It's a popular place for people heading to or from the jungle."
He crawled up against a tree and began to scratch into its bark with his claws, obviously feeling rather destructive.

Kori's eyes squinted as he watched Geral, almost feeling his pain secondary. The sound of bark being clawed up echoed through his mind. At this point in time, he was clueless at what to do. He took in a deep breath and then eyed the rope that lie uselessly at the side of the stump. He couldn't do anything if Geral was causing noise and that would most likely attract another Fanoran. His nervousness boiled and before he knew it, he had tackled Geral to the ground, putting his arms behind his back and beginning to tie him up. He didn't have any idea what he was going to do next, but something deep down told him not to kill the Fanoran. "Where's the nearest Fanoran village so I can leave you there?"

Geral looked up with bloodshot eyes. The nearest village... is... uh..." He closed his eyes and winced at pain. "It's Lunoiania. South from here through the woods, turn right when you get to a cliff, climb the stones, and head up the path near the edge. Mention the name Geral and people will listen to you." He paused and drew a breath. "If I move, the poison will spread faster. Bring someone from the village down here first. Walk loudly through the forest so that people don't think you're trying to attack us."
