Kori's eyes narrowed and he took in a deep breath. "You want me to get caught? I'd be risking a lot to save your hide... And to top it all off, your injured. I can't leave you here, my people may come looking for me and find you here. I'll take you with me." He lifted Geral up into his arms with barely any difficulty and looked towards the forest. He looked to the south and began to walk. he really could care less if Geral complained, he just wanted to get home.

Geral didn't complain, for he was too out of it. He occasionally moaned and shook a little, and he had a fever, but he seemed normal otherwise. He was carried southward through the thick pine forest that was dead quiet. No birds sang and no small animals moved about in the foliage. The mighty trees groaned in the high winds above and barely visible ahead of them were immense grey mountains.
Behind Kori, some distance away and up in the trees, a large figure was moving silently.

Kori halted and felt the hairs on the back of his neck prick up. He had never been more nervous in his life. He was in deep Fanoran territory and simply the thought made him want to run back. There were so many Fanorans and he guessed that he wouldn't be able to get out of this mess.
He kept walking, but kept aware of the feeling of being watched.

The presense behind and above Kori died off as he trekked on. Whatever it was didn't seem to want to go near the mountains they were now approaching, visible only as a sheer and jagged cliff face beyond a clearing before them. Over on the right was a staircase of stone as Geral had described. It led straight up into the cloudy grey mountains. All was quiet and Geral was still breathing.

Kori stepped closer to the staircase. His heart was pounding against his chest and he felt dizzy. He couldn't deny it any longer; he was scared. He could easily be surronded, especially if he were to come dragging an injured Fanoran. It would make it look as if he had injured him and had come to flash the news to the Fanorans to anger them.
Simply the feeing of being so deep within their territory frigthened him, but the second thought of knowing how many there actually were made him want to drop Geral there and run.
He continued until he was at the top of the staircase and his eyes shifted across the land.

They were atop a platform that rose halfway up the height of the colossal trees and before them stood another sheer cliff. The platform jutted out of the cliff as it curved to their left. It also sloped up like a path. There was a dense mist forming around the mountains above and the air grew slightly moist as though it would rain.
The rocks were still and silent. There was a wind howling beyond the cliffs and rockfaces. Geral mumbled and shifted a little. Him just lying there seemed to calm him.

Kori eyed the slope with worry. It was a bit steep and though he had climbed cliffs and tress all of his life, he wasn't good at fighting off on them. Getting down, especially with Geral, would take a good amount of time.
His eyes wandered until they followed the line of a path from the platform more upwards. On the outer edge and towards the top of the forest canopy, the sun was slightly higher in the sky, but an oncoming storm was closing in; the wind was beginning to pick up. He worked well in storms because the winds were powerful and fun to control.
He followed the path a ways up, carrying Geral with little effort, and he finally stopped. "Where are your people?" He asked.

Geral made no signs that he had heard Kori's question, but as the words left the youth's mouth, there stood a figure some way up the path. In the strong wind, it would have seemed as a statue in tattererd cloaks, but as a dark cloud overhead moved, it could be seen that this was a young female Fanoran, probably a few years younger than Geral. Her eyes were wide and she seemed angry. But then, as she observed the fellow Fanoran from a distance, she grew worried. Finally, she spoke to Kori.
"What did you do to my brother? Why is he... so ill?"

Kori's eyes were stuck to the new figure wrapped so delicately in cloaks, the wind sending a chill up his body. Of course it looked like a threat. He had come waltzing into their territory with an injured Fanoran. It could give off several signals.
"Your brother has been poisoned by the quills of a rockfish. He has told me that you have a cure for him and to take him here." He was quiet for a moment, waiting for a response, when he added, "I'm not a threat. I'm only coming to bring him back."
It must have sounded ridiculous on the count of him taking his own time to take an ememy to be healed. Perhaps, though, deep down, he would be doing something good.

The Fanoran girl tilted her head and daggers appeared in her hands. But she did not move aggresively. She walked forward calmly, her eyes fixed on Kori's.
"Is this is true, why did you help an enemy? You're Keid. You're supposed to be ruthless."
She kept her distance but was near enough to Geral to see that he was breathing.

Kori drew in a deep breath. Why did he help Geral? "I didn't want to leave him." Kori's eyes flashed for a moment. "It's not a fair battle, anyway. I prefer to fight an enemy with all their strength. It's not my way to fight against someone who's been poorly injured."
He looked away. "Either way, you should take him to your village. He's been poisoned and the poison is beginning to set in." He waited for her movements, his eyes gliding over the points of the daggers. He only just realized he was defenseless.

"You are noble, for a child," she said, though it was clear she couldn't have been much older than him. "As for a cure, I cannot say... Mother would know best, so you should lower him to the ground, turn around, and run like you've never ran before." She twirled a dagger in each hand, one after the other, her golden eyes fixed on the shuddering Keid.

Kori's eyes narrowed and he heard the sound of the approaching storm shuddering around them. He would never get out alive if he were to run off. He looked down at Geral in his arms and looked back at the Fanoran girl. He set Geral carefully on the ground, but his eyes remained focused on the Fanoran girl.

"I told you to run," she said, stepping forward. "I will not let any of us harm you until you reach home." She paused. "One need only make promises if one speaks lies by nature. Perhaps the humility that warms your heart is reward enough for your deed. My brother set out to kill you, and in return you save his life."
She went and picked her brother up as though he weighed very little. "No more talk. We're running out of time. Leave" And she turned and began walking briskly.
[Running or following her is your choice. One way would quickly end your RP]

Kori watched her walk at a quick pace, and though every sign was telling him to just leave and go back home, he couldn't. Reporting to the Keid that he had helped a Fanoran would ruin his reputation. He couldn't return without a hint of helpful information. Perhaps if he followed the Fanoran girl quietly without being caught, he could learn some things about them that he could report back to his fellow Keid. He quietly followed her in the shadows behind rocks and trees, skillfully quiet and alert to everything around him.
