Hey guys, progress on the new forum is coming along steadily. Currently, there are some characters with data, user profiles, view some sample stories, create characters and stories, and do a few other basic things. The interface is minimal, looking more like data entry software than a role-playing website, but this will be worked on. Within a few more weeks, we should get some screenshots out and even a beta some time after. If you have any questions regarding the new forum, feel free to ask them here, or even throw out some more suggestions. Remember, this is being made more or less from scratch, so it's going to be far more flexible than a proboards forum! We want to make it so that it's easy for YOU to use, so share your thoughts.

Probably in an earlier post, but do the characters get their own avatars?

We are aiming to implement that feature. I don't see any reason why it won't happen. Any other questions?

Yeah. Like sort of an interactive map linked to character sheets. The map would tracker character movements and the like, travel calculations and stuff. I could go on, but I'll wait and see what you've done so far.

That's something we've considered. Currently, something like a travel calculator already exists here: treijim.penscribbles.com/Wiki/World/Travel.html but the idea of a tracker would involve something more complex. And, unless you're travelling great distances, you would barely see a character marker move across a map of Riiga. Extensions of your idea could involve marking the hometown and residence of your character on a map, and also the starting locations of threads (now called stories). There could be an overview map showing where all the characters and stories are located. This is the sort of brainstorming we need. I'll run it past my programmer and see what he thinks.
