"Actually it was the floor, but it's a pretty solid floor," she smiled, combing her fringe out of her eyes. Rayne's answer, although it didn't explain too much, was still interesting to Alysia. "Well..." she started, tapping the side of her thumb against her chin as she mused. "It would make more sense to try and throw him off your trail entirely rather than to just keep running; it's no life on the run all the time," she continued thoughtfully, glancing out of the window to the now bustling streets of Phedailin. The streets raced with the masses of people going about their business in their usual noisy and erratic fashion. "A person could really get themselves lost in this city..." she muttered, "If you know what I mean," she smirked, looking over her shoulder to Rayne, her face cracking into a grin.

Rayne laughed lightly, "Why do you think I came here? I thought the same thing." She grinned, but a defeated look was in her eyes, as well as defiance. "He's a better tracker than I thought. I wouldn't doubt it if he's standing right outside that door right now listening to us. He probably followed you right on up here, unless you really made it look like normal for you to be heading here, but from what I saw of you entering in..." She gave a shrug, and started to sit up again.
"If I don't start moving now, he will most likely find me again. Thanks for the bed and everything." She tried to stand up and wobbled a little, finding something to lean against. When Alysia reached out to push her down again, Rayne responded, "I'm fine now. No need to worry. I need to go, I'll be fine." Thinking to herself though, I can only hope she doesn't push it. I don't know if I could fend her off... but I've got to leave.

Alysia raised an eyebrow, "Oh really?" she asked, the sarcasm dancing between her words. "You can go if you want to, but I'm coming with you..." she continued lightly, tugging her sleeve over her elbow. "...And before you start arguing! I've had an idea that could throw this fella off your back for good, I just need you to stay here for five minutes, or just not run off!" she explained, being deliberately noisily as she moved slowly towards the door. She gestured over her shoulder to Rayne's spear quickly, Rayne had had a very good point about her pursuer and there was no chance Alysia was going to let him eavesdrop on them...
She edged a little closer to the door, her hand hovering above the tarnished handle. "Right....I'll open the door, you smack him in the face, then I'll tell you my idea," she whispered as quietly as she could - the last thing they needed was for the man to hear thier battle plan.

Rayne prepared herself. She felt better already, after having rested for a short while. She still felt a little wobbly, but had enough stability to effect a good blow at anyone who might be behind the door. In response to Alysia, Rayne nodded once, raising her spear's blunt end towards the door, her legs spread wide for better balance.
To continue with the hoax though, Rayne continued to talk," I have to go now. I don't care about your silly plans, I've done well enough on my own. I can take care of myself." She really wasn't joking when she said this, beside not caring about any plans. She did know how to take care of herself, but she was more than willing to listen to any worthy battle plan.

Alysia glanced back over her shoulder to the girl, she looked unsteady, but still capable of wielding the spear. "Ok...ready,? Three...two...one!" she counted down before hurling the door open and leaping into the corridor, hoping the disable their assailant before he had time to strike.
However, this was not the case. Alysia, feeling much the fool, went sailing through the door and skidding along the floor. "Huh?!" she yelped as she finally slid to a halt, that hadn't been quite what she'd planned. She looked down the stairs, no sign of anybody. "It's not funny Rayne!" she warned, not gibing the girl any time to start laughing.
Getting to her feet, she dusted the splinters and dirt off her shirt. She could feel all the blood rushing straight to her face. how ridiculous! She turned back to Rayne and shook her head, a smile on her face. "Well so much for that idea eh?" she laughed and combed her fringe out of her face.
From out of the darkness behind the door, a hand lurched out, like a monster out of the deep, and dragged Alysia out of view. "What have you done with my daughter?" a voice hissed.

Rayne at first had to suppress a small giggle after seeing the other girl whiz across the hall floor. Of course, she couldn't laugh too hard as she was about to jab the butt end of her own spear into the same open space.
Letter down her guard, Rayne started to respond in kind, "I guess you really did convince him..." In mid sentence however, the girl was yanked into the shadows. Either she was trying to play a joke on Rayne, unlikely, or her stalker was just around the corner. Rayne's eyes darted from the now empty doorway, to the nearby window. Either escape, or help this girl out. Is she left, the stalker would probably leave as well. This girl should remain unharmed. Inconvenienced, but safe.
She inched her way closer to the window, but didn't make any sudden actions as of yet to flee or to fight...

The panic rattled around Alysia's body. She struggled against her attackers grip but to no avail. "I don't even know who you daughter is!" she yelped helplessly, still trying to escape.
"I'm not going to ask you again..." the man snarled, the harsh clink of a unsheathed dagger coupled with his words. Alysia struggled again, this was far beyond 'out of her hands'. "Rayne!!" she howled, making a failed attempt at forcing her elbow into the man's stomach.

Rayne was just about to bale ship when she heard her name cried out. This didn't sound good. Not good at all. Lunging from the room into the hallway, Rayne, through training and instinct, came out in a roll, spear tip pointed up on the dark side of the hallway. She wobbled a bit on the end, but stood her ground firmly. "Let her go. It's me you're after." Rayne sounded all the boy there. Like an ever courageous knight. It still seems hard to believe he is really a she under all that bravado and cloth.

"Rayne!" the man cried, dropping Alysia out of surprise. "Where have you been? Have you any idea how worried I've been? You know you're too young to go wandering off on your own!" the man continued, making his way across the hall to embrace the girl. "You know each other!?" Alysia yelped, this day was just getting weirder and weirder. She stared at the pair of them, unable to anything but gape at them like a fish. She wanted an explanation but if she knew Rayne, she's wasn't likely to get one any time soon.

Rayne had dropped her guard enough for her father to smother her in a hug. She was shocked to find that her father was the one following her, and at how well of a tracker he really was. "F..father?" Rayne stood there confused for a moment, then turned angry. "Put me down! I'm more than strong enough to take care of myself." She glared at the wall as she said this, not returning her father's embrace. She just stood there like a stiff log in his arms.

"Are you alright? What did you do to your head? I told you to be careful," The man continued, cheerfully ignoring Rayne's protests, something that didn't go unnoticed with Alysia. "Father?!" Alysia yelped as though someone had trodden on her foot; she had absolutely no idea what to do in this situation, she had never had much dealing with 'fathers' and their ways. She could see that Rayne looked suitably unimpressed with the force of his embrace, though that wasn't too surprisring, she didn't seem the 'hugging' type...
She found hard to believe this was the same man she had tried to shake off minutes before. He seemed almost frantic here, the polar opposite of the dangerous and smug persona he ha embodied earlier.
Rayne's father finally let go of her, though retaining his hold on her by way of a hand on the shoulder. "Who are you? Did you do this to my daughter?" he demanded, pointing to the still sizeable lump on the back of Rayne's head.

Rayne knocked her father's hand off her shoulder as soon as it was placed there. "I told you already! I can handle myself." She started to walk away a few steps from him to give herself some space. "If she was the one who hurt me, she wouldn't be standing there still. I told you I can handle myself." She crossed her arms in defiance as she glared from the top of her eyes at her father. "I'm not going back with you daddy. I can't go back. Not yet."

Alysia sighed and combed her fringe back off her face, at least she was no longer implicated, she still had no idea what was going on. The man opposite her looked flabbergasted at his daughter's reply and had launched into another rant. This caused yet another sigh to pass from Alysia's lips, she was losing patience with being in the dark, and though she was more than happy to help Rayne out, she couldn't do a thing if she didn't know what was going on.
"Look ,I've had enough off you," She started, far more strongly tan she felt, pulling the man back by his shoulder. "I need some answers, why exactly does she need to go back to anywhere - if she's left home it should be her decision, right?" She continued, looking up to Rayne of guidance. She would get to the bottom of this, one way or another.
