Rayne flipped the table anyway, knowing that the other brawlers will be upon them soon. He grabbed his spear and faced one side of the overturned table. "Leave. Now. I'll follow in a moment." The table should only let the brawlers get to them from one side. Holding his wooden spear butt end to the opening, Rayne waited for the brawlers to come. "What are you still standing here for? Get out the window, before things get rough..."

Alysia glared at him across the table. "Are you crazy?! I'm not leaving you here!" she cried, hurling the stool into the onslaught of attackers. This was probably really unwise; fighting vast numbers of angry drunkards was never recommended but even though her job hung on the line if her boss came back in, she couldn't really leave Rayne fend for himself. "and don't argue!" she warned him, kicking another in the chest. [Apologies for the lateness...I've just moved into Uni ^_^

Rayne glared at her, as he kicked someone in the shin. "I said leave!" He turned around and starts to try and force her out the window. "I have no intentions of..." Suddenly his body went slack on her side as he lost sense of where he was. The room seemed to spin, as he found himself on the floor near Alysia. his vision felt blurry and he could no longer think as quickly as he was use to. Thought came slowly, as so did his movements.
(Sorry about the wait. Life and stuff. And as a visual, he was trying to push her out the window and to safety, and got hit in the back of the head. He slouched over her and then slid to the floor in his daze, unable to really move.)

(It's cool, don't worry ) "Rayne!" Alysia wailed and dropped down to his level, narrowly avoiding a chair leg to the face. "I told you not to argue!" she continued helplessly, turning the boy onto his back. "Oh Rayne, Wake up!!" she cried as the chaos raged around her. This was getting ridiculous - there was no way she could handle this on her own and as much as she hated asking for help, it was necessary. "Runnin' outta options now aren't ya little lady?" one of the men sneered above her...that's what they thought! She smiled sweetly at them before screaming "Chef!!!" at the top of her lungs; now they were for it. From out of the kitchen came a tremendous roar as the door swung open. The particularly large figure of 'Chef' stomped into the room and into completely silence. "Anybody got a problem?" he asked levelly, looking down at the ridiculously clichéd rolling pin in his left hand. A satisfied grin drifted onto his face as the attackers moved quietly out of the door. He glanced over to Alysia and shook his head in amusement, "What am I gonna do with you?!" he scolded playfully and sloped back into the kitchen. Problem solved. Her attention turned back to Rayne, she couldn't just leave him unconscious under the table, something had to be done. She sighed and lifted him awkwardly onto her back –thankfully he didn't weight too much. Making her way across the bar, her mind turned to more pressing thoughts – she really hoped Rayne would recover, on the face of it, the wound seemed a fairly standard 'bump to the head'. She could only hope it was that superficial. She climbed the stairs to her quarters and forced the door open with her foot – Rayne was made of stern stuff, he'd make it. She dropped him on the bed, taking one last look at lump on the back of his head, it was looking better already, "See you in the morning," she smiled and closed the door behind her. (Sorry for such a long post, I’m trying to get us to a place where we can step it up a bit )

(Sorry. Didn't want to log in just to log out... but it is me.)
Rayne tried to make sense of what happened, as someone carried the boy up something. He knew he was going up from the feel of things, but couldn't bring himself to move his body. He passed between the world of being awake to the world of being asleep, and seemed to be someplace in between. Only vaguely aware of what was happening.
Some hours latter, Rayne finally awoke. He bolted upright in his bed, only to moan and grab the back of his head. Where he touched, he got a sharp pain from. "Ow..." He whispered. The room was too dark to see if there was blood on his hand, but it didn't feel wet. Feelings can be false though, and wouldn't be the first time he had bled without realizing it. He tried to look around, but the world around him was dark, and what shadows he saw seemed to blur as he moved his head. Eventually, he gave up and went back down, his head hurting for some reason. The events from before where a blur in his mind, unrecognizable events and thoughts. Laying his head back down onto the pillow, he tried to look around, observe his surroundings from the pillow. Though it didn't blur as he wasn't moving, he still couldn't make sense of what he was seeing. It was just too dark. Maybe he was taken prisoner? What an annoyance that would be...

(It's ok, I guessed it'd be you ...I'm afraid this is going to be a long one.) Alysia sighed as she collected the shards of the splintered tables that lay strewn around the room. People could really make a mess if they tried...and of course it'd be her job to clear it up afterwards. The tavern was in almost completely silent, the only noise came from the slightly open window as the Phedailin was waking up around them. Alysia grumbled again and made her way over to the smeared window. "Stupid soldiers, why can't they throw things that don't stain everything they touch?" she muttered under her breath, applying more pressure to the awkward brown stain that marked the window. The silence of the tavern was disrupted by the abrupt clearing of someone's throat. "Excuse me," a voice began. "We don't open 'til noon," Alysia interrupted, not bothering to turn around to see whom she was addressing, she was in no mood for 'customer service' today. "That is of little concern to me..." the voice replied shortly. Annoyance prickled upwards through Alysia's hair line, was this guy stupid? She turned to face him, the ire automatically seizing her expression. " I don't care whether you don't care or not so if you'd kindly-" she started to rant but the words fell dead in her mouth: he was too...different: too out of place for her to just dismiss and carry on ranting. She scanned him up and down with one eye, he was too darkly clad not to be trouble, his face displayed signs of travel, marked upon a skin that had seen harsh winds and hot summers. "I was wondering if you can help me," he continued, as though the previous conversation had never taken place. "I'm looking for someone," In Alysia's experience of taverns and their ways, it was always best to avoid a statement such as this, she decided to stay cagey. "Not my job to look for people," She answered shortly and went back to cleaning the window. Part of her was painfully curious though... The wry laugh that followed her comment sent the aggravation rushing across her shoulders again. “Are you sure about that?” the man asked lightly, clinking two coins together in the palm of his hand. There was an unpleasant stalemate that rattled across the room, Alysia had to bite down on her lip stop herself calling the man something she shouldn’t. “’Pends who you’re looking for,” she forced through her teeth, grinding the cloth across the window. The man laughed again, not a cheerful laugh though; the laugh of a man who has acquired everything he ever desired through oblique means. “A girl, though truth be told she more resembles a boy than a girl. She’s around your age, though perhaps a little shorter than yourself and of a darker complexion, goes under the name of ‘Rayne’ – know anyone like that?” he asked eventually, leaning against the counter behind him. Alysia’s face nearly betrayed her, thankfully she was still facing away from the stranger. “Ain’t seen anybody like that, I’d think I’d remember a girl who looks like a boy,” she replied, perhaps a little too casually – her brain was going into overdrive, she had to find Rayne. “Now if you’ll excuse me,” she continued civilly, pushing past the man and walked slowly out of the room. She had to calm down or she’d give herself away. Forcing her breathing back to a ‘normal’ level, she heaved the door open and slipped behind it. She glanced up the staircase, she had to get Rayne out of here. The man was too far away to catch her, at least she hoped so as she took off up the stairs, two at a time. (Sorry it’s so long >.< I couldn’t get everything in a short space without making it rubbish!)

Rayne just laied on the bed, not feeling well enough to get up amd try to move. He rested there, drifting between asleep and awake. How much time had pased, he did not know. He didn't care either.
(Really short one this time... sorry.)

(That's fair enough Alysia blazed into the room, slamming the door behind her. Panting, she flopped against it for support. What was she going to do? She looked across to Rayne who seemed mildly perturbed by her sudden entrance. Alysia continued to stare at him for a while, her mind awash with thoughts - her brain couldn't process them in time so her eventual input into the conversation was to shout "You're a girl!?!" at the top of her lungs. Of all the worrying and potentially lethal pieces of information she had uncovered in the last half an hour his seemed to be the only once she could communicate.

Rayne winced when she yelled. "Yeah, I neva said I wasn't." She sat up, and a mild blush crept onto her face as she was thinking of how this girl could have found out. "And quit yelling, my head hurts for some reason..." She rubbed the egg of a sore on the back of her head with her hand, carefully. "How long was I out? I can't recall much besides blurs... and... what are you? A perv!?" She pulled the blankets up over her chest when she suggested that Alysia was a pervert, not knowing how she found out about her gender, not that she cared really.

"A Perv!!" Alysia bawled, banging against the door, "What are you talking about!? How can I be a perv, honestly!!" she continued, stamping around the room. She knew she had to calm down, screaming at bawling at Rayne wasn't going to solve anything, and she had plenty of things to solve. "I wasn't 'perving' on you - There's a guy downstairs who's looking for you, well...someone fitting your description, he said you were a girl and I just panicked" She sighed, sliding down the wall onto the floor, this had to be resolved; strange men lurking in taverns looking for people was never a subject to be left open ended...Besides, Alysia was curious to see Rayne's reaction to the statement.

Ryan glared at Alysia. "You looked... didn't you... That makes you a perv as I wasn't injured down there." She did try to add in a light note to this, like she was making a joke out of it. It didn't bother herself any if anyone saw her naked or not. It was always just fun to play with their heads a little.
Upon finding out about the man downstrairs Rayne looks down at the blankets. "So he followed me here... great." She sighed. "I've got to get going. Sorry for..." She started to try and get up, but fell back down from being wobbly. "Ow..." She rubbed the back of her head, where a good sized lump was. It was a sour egg all right. "What hit me? A wall..."

"Go!? You can't go down there! I won't let you, that fella looks dangerous!" Alysia cried, dipping down to Rayne's level, just too late to catch her before she made contact with the floor. She stared down to Rayne. "If this guy's following you, what makes you think he won't just turn up in the next place you go? He looks a man capable enough of tracking anything down; how did you get a guy like that on your tail," she explained, observing the lump on the back of Rayne's head, there was no way she was letting Rayne go down there on her own.

Rayne cringed when Alysia probed the back of her head. "I had no intentions of fighting him. I was going to avoid him, and go on to the next town..." She purposfully didn't say why the mane was following her. Alysia didn't need to know and that was all there was to it. "You can stay here in hystarics if you want, but if I don't leave soon, he will have followed you up here soon enough and see me." The man's face was the last face she wished to see at the moment. She had been running from this man for a while now. She had hoped he would have given up at some point, but appaerently she was wrong on that subject. However, with the way things seemed to be going now, she most likely wont be able to keep her ballence long enough to get out of the room, not to mention get away from the man pursuing her.

Alysia sighed hopelessly, was she ever going to understand? "Look, I'll say it again, you are going nowhere! Not in your condition anyway, you can be barely see straight!" Forcing Rayne back down onto the bed. She looked over her shoulder again to the still invisible threat. "And if he comes up here then we'll just have to batter him; won't you just tell me what you've done, or what he thinks you've done," she said eventually, looking nervously at another cut on Rayne;s forehead.

Rayne tried to fight back, but not at the same time. She slide back down to the bed. "I'll be fine, once the room stops spinning... " She must have gotten hit harder than she suspected. She was fine, so long as she didn't swing her head or move much. With a sigh, Rayne listened to the questions, unsure of how to answer. "Honestly, I don't know why he still follows me. I guess I'm just not where I'm suppose to be and he's here to bring me back. Good enough for you?" She glared at Alysia, forgetting that she was a guest here, and was in her bed. "All I know is I need to get on the move... Did a wall happen to fall on top of my head? I've never felt this dizzy before..." She tried to lighten up the atmosphere a bit with some dry wit and humor, as well as distract Alysia from her probing questions.
