I was wondering if one could heal oneself with magic, or only others?
Now, as I state this, I also want to mention that I do understand that preforming any kind of magic is taxing on the body and takes energy to preform. I also know that you can't stand there, get hit, heal, stand there, get hit and heal in an infinite cycle, as you will get tired very fast, and healing probably would take time to preform as well.
I ask this as, well, I'm planing a bit of having my character as a healer type with magic, something he is good at. I was wondering if he could heal himself, or only heal others.

It doesn't say if one can heal oneself, though it doesn't say one can't. Kinda actually hints that one can heal yourself with light magic.
So, correct me if I'm wrong, but if Akire needed to, he could mend a broken bone on his own with light magic?

Okay, the thing with Riigan magic is that it's based on scientific fundamentals. It's not just a list of spells. I'm going to throw in some quotes from On Magic to try and answer your question: "Light magic can heal in the sense that, when sent into a body, it forces out bad energy, and can thus dispel anything put there by shadow energy. Light magic, as said, also revitalises the body and gives one a fresh and hopeful feeling. In a way, it literally induces wellbeing and alertness. It should not, however, be used as a fix. It creates happiness, not joy or laughter, and it does not remove problems from your life." This describes light magic as a spiritual healer, not a physical healer. What you're looking for is a type of energy that assists in the body's natural healing process. What you're looking for is organic magic. treijim.penscribbles.com/Wiki/People/Iconic_People/Carson/OnMagic.html#organic"The magical cure for a toxin (or an illness, for that matter) is a remedy spell, which is basically the caster sending healthy energy into the body of the victim, forcing destructive energy and thus chemicals out of the body. Depending on the nature of the illness or toxin, the patient may suddenly throw up the bad things. This technique can also be used on plants to influence them to grow, and by directing the nature energy, one can instruct which way they should grow." The reference to helping plants grow could, theoretically, by applied to humans. The reason Nicolas Carson is so vague on the topic is that he does not condone to the use of magic in "cheating". To purposefully use it on oneself to strengthen, fortify, or otherwise enhance, exploits the very existence of such magic. However, as subtly suggested, healing bones and wounds can be sped up simply with the presence of nature/organic magic within the harmed area. In regards to your question of directing magic: "4. Projecting Finally, once the first three steps have been done, the mage indicates (as they have already selected) where he or she wishes the energy to go, and in what form, and the spell is attempted. Success depends on the physical and mental state of the mage, the strength of the link between the mage and the element/spirit, and the quantity of the element present. If a spell fails, nothing will happen, though the mage will feel fatigued." Essentially, anything can be directed anywhere, but whether it will work or not is a question, mostly, of simple logic. Natural energy into a stone, logically, will not work.
