High up in the mountains North west of Hluff, Tern sat waiting at one of the designated meeting places. His legs were crossed and a silver sword rested in his lap. His jacket was off, resting in the snow beside him, revealing something that very few knew about.
His breathing was steady and calm, his body still. His eyes were open but rather than their usual blue they swirled with what looked like blue black fog. He watched from the physical world, respectfully not crossing over and entering the sacred place he knew was near by.

[Joining with Daes]
"That is for me?" asked a deep growling voice, coming from a tall figure standing behind Tern. Unlike others, Daes could use his magic without the slightest disturbance to the normality of the environment.

Tern half stood, turned, keeping his head bowed respectfully and held out the sword. "Yes Elder." He blinked his eyes a few times and the blue black fog cleared. By his calm reaction he was possibly used to the fact that the Daes caused no disturbance when he used his magic.
He gave no indication as to where he'd come by the weapon, at least not unless Daes asked him for one.

Daes looked around very slowly, as though studying the patterns of bark on every nearby tree, and then he looked back to Tern.
"You're a good pup," he said. "Just like your father was. This sword has writing of humans on it. What does it say?"

Tern lifted his head a bit, standing a little more proudly but still showing respect to the Elder. "Wolf Slayer, Elder." He replied though he used the proper words, not the human ones. "I thought I felt some magic, Elder, but I'm not sure. Their magic doesn't feel the same."

Daes took the sword's grip into his hand and closed his eyes. He hesitated and bared his teeth for a moment.
"Mm. It's weak magic. Proably infused by a cheap mage for hire. It's nothing to worry about." He concealed it in his cloaks and it vanished. "What other news is there of the outside?"

Tern was quiet for a moment as he thought, clearly ordering things in his mind before answering. "Yesterday I was watching one of the warriors from Hluff practising her fighting. She was using her claws and fire magic." His expression, though he kept his head bowed, suggested this confused him a bit but he continued.
"She broke one of the trees and the body of a Sirin fell out, like it had been stuffed inside the tree to hide it." He paused. "She started back to the village but a wind spirit pushed her back, towards the human town. The dead Sirin's spirit had stayed near it's former shell and it was angry." Again his expression suggested this confused him. "I've never seen that before, Elder."

Daes lifted his eyes to the grey skies above and he sighed very slowly. He stroked his chin, specked with a red beard, and closed his eyes.
"The wind spirit dwells very far away from here, so perhaps it was some magic that pushed her. But a spirit refusing to leave... that is upsetting." He put a hand on Tern's shoulder. "I have no words that may comfort you. I must leave to inform Father about this. Any last items to share?"

Tern nodded slightly. "The wind pushed her on. I followed and spoke with the Spirit then went with her to see what might have happened. We came across a fairly well organised band of Humans, about twenty. The warrior killed most of them. I caught their leader, he was the one who had that sword. I took the sword and let him go and came right here, Elder." He paused and frowned a bit. "I'm not sure if the Sirin's spirit left. Are there words I can say if it hasn't, Elder?"

"There are no words for an angry soul," Daes said. "You can check on it now and then and make sure no harm comes to others, but only time can comfort... Only time." He stepped backwards and faded into the cold air like a dream.
