He scratched his chin in thought. "What I need is evidence that someone, likely you, was around here, and that I wasn't wasting time." He sighed. "Unfortunately, to draw blame off you, I need to lay it ON you a bit longer." He glanced at the door, ears flicking beneath the hood. "If I have a piece of evidence, a rag from your clothes or something, I can head outside and sya all I found was that. When they go away, hopefully, you'll be able to escape."

"You wanna help me, as I help you, by getting me blamed?" At first, Akire was lost. Why would he want to leave something behind? It isn't like he has a lot of stuff to spare. Then, an idea hit him as he was dusting his hands off.
"Hum. If you insist on needing evidence that I was here and that you 'looked for me'..." He gently slapped his hands on the man's pants, trying to make it look like he had struggled against him. Then went along and padded the counters and anything else he could think off on his way to the window. To reach the window, he had to stand on the counter, which only caused more flour prints to appear on the counter as he climbed up. "You gonna yell now or something?" He was ready for his great escape, and was ready to outrun the guards.
"I'll meet up with you... um... in the ally across the street from here?" Akire sounded uncertain of himself, but he was certain he could outrun the knights in their armor. He was spry, quick and agile. He knew how to escape from tight situations.
"Well?" He seemed to give a look of impatience. "Start yelling that you've grabbed me or something..."

"One moment..." He half-closed his eyes, holding up a gloved hand. Slowly an icicle forming in it, held as one would a knife ready to be thrown. "I hope you're ready, because you're going to need to move very, very quickly."
He inhaled deeply, then threw the icicle, smashing it against the counter. It had been formed weakly, as if he had been surprised and reacted without thinking properly. "Don't even think to try escaping!" He snarled loud enough for the knights to hear as he smashed another fragile icicle on the ground near the window, forming a third in his hand, looking directly at Akire.
He hoped the gambit would work, or the kid would have some explaining to do. And possibly himself.

Akire at first stood there, staring at the ice. "You can..." He started, but then the ice got smashed and the hooded man started to shout. Akire's mind was turning over the fact of magic, amazed by it, but where is mind was frozen, his body reacted by instinct. With in moments, he was already out the window and running away, even before the second shard of ice broke.
(And thus... I seem to run out of the role play. I'll be BBBBBBAAAAACCCCKKKKKK!!!!!!)

Isaac and his men erupted into the room with swords at the ready. On seeing the state the room was now in, Isaac looked at Max with disappointment. He glanced at the window and at the shards of ice, now moistening the floorboards.
"He got away?" Isaac asked. "Was that him? Did you just let him escape?" He folded his arms as the other men began to scour the room for other clues or hints. One went to the window and peered out, but could see nothing of interest.

Max turned to scowl at the knight. "Does it look like I did? That kid's quite fast, faster than I expected him to be. He was most certainly the one you were looking for." The scowl faded into a thoughful expression. "Are you sure it's him that you should be looking for though? He did look a bit on the scrawnier side."

"Am I sure? Are you sure? We need to follow up everything we have, and right now that kid is the only thing we have. Either way, we have a deal."
Isaac then circled the room a few times, turning things over, stopping randomly to listen to the sound of distant crowds. Some of the staff and patrons of the tavern had tried to enter to discern what had happened, but the guards turned them away. That is, until a particularly busty lady claimed to have spotted a child running away who she thought had escaped through a window. She said that she couldn't be sure that was what he'd done, but he just had "that look" that he was involved in some kind of trouble. The guards told Isaac and they got a heading.
"It seems I should've hired this lady instead of you," Isaac muttered to Max. "But you're still with me." They all went outside and began to head in the direction the lady described. "Use your nose or something to pick up his scent. Can't you do that?"

Akire ran from the tavern that he was in just a few moments ago. He didn't want to take any chances at the guards having seen which way he ran, so he took a corner and ran down an ally way. Once so far down, he turned back towards the tavern, to back track along a different path and eventually run into the other direction. However, he wasn't in the city for that long, and soon found himself at a dead end. Precious moments passed as he was stuck here. Hopefully he had already lost anyone who would recognize him...

Humans... The Ildemin mentally snarled. His eyes half-closed in concentration, as if trying to discern a scent. "I'll... See what I can do. I'll bring you any news."
He glanced at the knight. "I'd rather hunt alone. You're welcome to come, but it'll be hard to pick up his scent without that of yourself and your armour. The child's trail is faint enough as it is."
I suppose I could try to bring him in for questioning. But I don't trust that knight to merely question him. He looks to be on the warpath.

"Alone?" Isaac smiled and was about to laugh. He looked to his colleagues for some confirmation to what he found to be humerous but they didn't seem to agree. He set his attention back on Max. "Very well. But we'll be watching you, so don't try anything shady. Do you know the location of the guard tower on the corner of Grand Beselient Way? I'll be inside there. My men will distribute and gather reinforcements. Now that we have a description, we can notify store owners and room-lenders and spread out to search for him."
He dusted off his hands and placed them on his hips, inspecting the room. "Shame, really. I was hoping to deal some punishment today. Oh well, in due time I suppose. Why are you still here?" He wasn't looking at anybody, but it could be discerned who he was addressing.

(Me. Tes. Just... not logging in just to log back out...)
Akire was lost for but a moment, till he saw the small tunnel the 'street rats' tend to use. Kneeling down, Akire moved the plank that covered the entrance and went through the small cravace of a tunnel. When he was fully inside, he replaced the cover to hide the tunnle from most people. The tunnel led out to a spot where he could see the inn, and he managed to catch a glimps of armored boots leaving the tavern in the crowd. Akire waited a few more moments longer, till he was sure the coast was clear, and then waited for the mysterious furry mage to come out, in his robe. Akire had questions for the person, as well as he was certain the person would have questions for him.
