The knife-wielder had stopped moving entirely. It was as though he was waiting for everybody to leave before coming back to life. When it became clear that there were at least two who would not leave, he slowly turned.
"Stabby?" came a voice like hissing gas. "May I get... cutty?" He shoved some panicking citizens to the floor and came at a run towards Wildfire. He came so fast and so smooth that it seemed he tripped and fell, but he rolled and aimed a slice for one of Wildfire's feet.
The rest of the mob remained static. Well, almost; one of the had turned its body to face Sven and had its arms slightly raised, but did nothing else. It appeared to be watching Sven's hatchet with an unblinking gaze.

It was typical that even back inside the Inn trouble would continue to stir. Frankly Sven hadn't the time or patience for it, as with people fleeing en-masse, there would soon be a dozen gaurds descending on the tavern. And they haven't been known to sympathise in brawls in the past.
Unfortunately Sven had noticed the unwavering attentions of one goon in particular, who stood quite state-esque, staring at his little hatchet. Perhaps a little angry about the previous embarressment. Were he going to fight, Sven would lash the mans eyes out with his whip-chain, but instead opted for the high road.
Sven took a fast step towards the door.

"Cutty? You certainly can try, but you won't be the first to fail!" Wildfire replied as he shifted into a more fight-friendly stance. Luckily, this stance let his hissing opponent miss the majority of his foot and cut only into the unoccupied space at the end of his boot.
"Aw, this was a good boot! You're paying for that!" he said. However, at that moment, a silver coin fell from a secret slot in the botton of the boot and rolled towards his assailant. With any luck, it would prove enough of a distraction to give Wildfire a chance to find some high ground...or at least a sharp thing to fight with!

Wildfire's foe rolled to a crouching position and spun round to inspect the damage. All he got, however, was a smart and patronising comment. Now angry, he went to attack again, but he saw the coin and was momentarily distracted. Unfortunately for Wildfire, he was also distracted by having to turn around to keep an eye on his assailant. It was then that two of the others came up and each grabbed one of Wildfire's arms, holding him in place like a criminal. Both had knives in their hands, and the first foe was now in front of Wildfire, up close.
Sven would have been most dismayed to find that the door had slammed shut with ferocious force, and the wood of the frame seemed to be blending into the wood of the door itself. The one who was watching Sven had one hand raised, indicating that he was the culprit of the peculiar magic. A loud rattling began to fill the room, like a giant rattlesnake.
Another of the cloaked men who had also remained static till now -- one of the larger ones, yet not so large as the magic one -- pulled back his hood. He, unlike the others, actually looked more or less human; he appeared old and battle-beaten, yet held an air of great strength and authority. His scarred face turned to Sven with a grin like a crocodile.
"Your face tells me you fail to recognise me, Sven," the man said. The three surrounding Wildfire stopped to listen, and a quietness eventually filled the room as he kept speaking. "You didn't think you could just keep running from your past, did you?"

[Order of posting: Oz, WildfireMagni, Treijim, RëväÑ]
Were it any other time or scenario Sven would almost find the sudden outbursts and declarations of character in the fight amusing, but brawling in a city wasn't in his interests. Especially since someone had recognised him, most unwelcomingly at that.
After another couple of seconds he was accross the room and at the door, but was stopped short when it refuses to budge, no matter how furiously he pummeled the handle. Turning around Sven glanced about the tavern at the drunken mayhem that had ensued. Some fled for their lives, some joined the violence with shattered furniture and flagons as cudgels.
Now there was the new dilemma: Sven couldn't duck out of the tavern. Which meant this brawl was going to involve him, even if he went for the cellar to escape to street level. More worryingly: someone had recognised him. Sven had never been a murderer, or a kidnapper, or a vagabond. But some of his monster hunting contracts had of course gone awry. A farmers daugther once thought herself a heroine and beat Sven to his quarry. He then proceeded to pick what was left of her from it's teeth. In chasing a flying lizard, Sven riddled it with lash whelts only for it to crash into a village mill, causing months worth of damage.
Someone could easily be angry at him. Or worse, more prophecies...

Wildfire watched as the chaos exploded around him. He hadn't seen a brawl like this in a good while, which helped to invigorate him. Suddenly, he realised that this was his chance to escape, even though there was a knife at his throat. Without a second thought, he kicked the knife-wielder square between the legs and attempted to pull free of his captors. This would probably end badly, but he would rather go out fighting than simply allow himself to be torn apart!

The leather clod of foot rushed up into the cloaks and smacked the cloaked figure square between the legs. Apparently this was enough to prove that he was human as well, and he reacted appropriately. Now on the ground, the ones who were holding Wildfire's arms responded. One let go and the other tugged at Wildfire with great strength, attempting to throw the youth into a nearby collection of chairs. The one who let go proceeded, ready to do some more cutting.
The man with his hood down watched the struggle across the room for a moment with a smile which seemed half amused and half annoyed. He turned his attention back to Sven, trusting that his accomplices would be able to handle Wildfire. The one who supposedly sealed the door shut -- the tall one -- glanced towards the rest of the opposing mob and turned his head slightly, but he was otherwise unmoving.
"Isn't the security response around here grand?" the man said to Sven. "Clearly, the guardian factions here care about the wellbeing of their citizens. Though, this sort of treatment does not come for free." He paused and held out his hand. Knowing full well that he was being vague, he smirked.
